In Minecraft Legends, you play as a mysterious hero tasked with uniting the Minecraft world against an invading Piglin army. To fight off these beasts from the nether, you must work with villagers and hostile overworld mobs to quickly form an army and construct impervious defenses.

While you command your troops, you will find yourself riding around the battlefield or exploring the open world on various mounts, or animals, that offer distinctive advantages and drawbacks. If you are curious about the four different mounts you can ride on into battle, then check out the list below.

4 Horse

The Horse is the starter mount that you instantly unlock at the beginning of the game, meaning you do not have to actively search out this mount in the open world. The Horse is an interesting mount because it is characterized as a jack of all trades, but a master of none.

Specifically, this animal has consistent stats across the board but does not excel in one area specifically. With that being said, this mount is still the perfect choice for anyone that has just started their adventure.

Perhaps the only quirk that makes the horse stand out is the ability to infinitely sprint while you ride the mount, even if the speed of the Horse is quite slow. This infinite sprint is best used to explore the overworld since you can travel across biomes without exhausting your mount.

However, the slow speed of the sprint may put you in danger during combat, since it makes it more difficult to track down enemies or lose pursuers. Luckily, you do not have to use the Horse as your sole mount for long, and all the other mounts in the game improve on different aspects that the horse lacks.

3 Big Beak

The Big Beak stands out among the other mounts in the game because it offers a unique gliding mechanic that can save your life in a pinch. Typically, this mount is best utilized when exploring the tall mountains found throughout the world.

Simply jump off a steep cliff while riding this bird, and you can glide down safely to the ground, avoiding all fall damage. To unlock this mount, travel to the Jagged Peaks and search out a yellow question mark on your compass, which will then spawn Big Beaks across the biome.

Furthermore, the Big Beak is slightly faster than the Horse when it comes to sprinting around the overworld. At first glance, this may seem like a serious advantage over the Horse, but entering combat on the Big Beak is not the best idea.

Since the Big Beak does not have the ability to constantly sprint, certain enemies will be able to easily chase you down and remove you from the battlefield. Furthermore, there are other mounts that can traverse steep areas faster while in the heat of combat, essentially confirming that the Big Beak is only viable before a battle breaks out.

2 Regal Tiger

The Regal Tiger is a purple mount that specializes in quick movement in and out of combat, and this mount has the fastest movement speed in the game while sprinting, allowing you to traverse the open world quickly and weave through combat scenarios. If you are interested in unlocking the Regal Tiger, then head over to the Dry Savannah and look for a question mark on the compass.

While the quick movement of this mount is certainly a plus, this animal lacks the ability to quickly traverse vertical terrains such as mountains or forts. As you progress through the storyline of Minecraft Legends, you will have to take the offensive against the Piglins by attacking their encampments with your troops.

Sadly, a lot of these areas have walls and barriers to prevent you from entering, meaning the Regal Tiger has no way of moving around these tall structures. While the speed of this mount is a massive selling point for exploration, there are simply other mobs in the game that offer strategic advantages on the battlefield.

1 Brilliant Beetle

The Brilliant Beetle is uncontested as the best mount to use while in combat, as it offers an incredible utility that can easily turn the tide of the war against the Piglins. Specifically, this mount has the ability to crawl up tall walls and mountains, allowing you to easily flank the enemy and enter their bases with ease.

If you are curious as to where you unlock this fantastic mount, then head over to the jungle biome and identify a question mark on your compass.

Luckily, the wall-climbing ability is not the only thing the Brilliant Beetle brings to the battlefield. This mount also has a long jump that can be activated to jump across pools of lava, or completely clear smaller barricades and walls.

Finally, this mount can also swim through the water faster than the other mobs in the game, meaning you can quickly lose any pursuers while you traverse the open world. Clearly, the Brilliant Beetle should be your first choice to mount whenever you are planning on attacking or defending yourself from the Piglins because these insects offer game-changing advantages.
