Maria's follower arc is one of Metaphor: ReFantazio's most touching. The sweet young girl is full of life, and yet so many in Grand Trad see her as a filthy half-breed. She's endured so much, and helping her to overcome these harshly unfair obstacles is richly rewarding in its own right.

And yet, there are excellent tangible gameplay rewards as well. In this guide, we've documented the earliest dates in which you can reach fresh follower ranks with Maria, as well as what you'll gain from them all. You don't need to do them ASAP, but we reckon you ought to, anyway.

How To Unlock Maria As A Follower

Maria unlocks automatically on June 10th, making her one of Metaphor: ReFantazio's earliest followers. A separate mechanic, however, involving delivering every piece of vista artwork so that she can hang them up at the Hushed Honeybee, occurs a bit later.

In some cases, you'll need to have obtained a certain artwork for Maria's ranks to advance. We'll document those instances below.
