The Best Camos In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Ranked

One of the things beginners learn very quickly while playing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the importance of camouflage. Throughout the game, you can quickly switch between different uniforms and face paints to increase your camo index. The higher the camo index, the harder it is for enemies to see you.
Naturally, different camos work better in different areas. However, there are several ones that you are bound to use more than others. For example, there aren't any situations where the Naked or Santa Claus outfits are the most useful. The following outfits, though, are all very useful in at least some areas, and a few have added bonuses, too.
Scientist
How To Acquire
Given to you by EVA.
Bonus Effects
None
The Scientist uniform might seem a strange camo (disguise) to call one of the best in the game. After all, it only really works in two places: the Graniny Gorki Research Facility and the Groznyj Grad weapons lab. However, its effectiveness in those buildings means it deserves credit.
With it on, you can simply walk around these buildings with none of the guards bothering you. Trying to do those sections without it is very difficult. So, while it might not be the most versatile uniform, it's very useful in certain parts of the game.
Splitter (Face Paint And Uniform)
How To Acquire
Unlock by default (face paint) and find in the Bolshaya Past South area (uniform).
Bonus Effects
None
Most of the camo in the game is designed for use outside. However, the Splitter uniform and face paint help keep you camouflaged inside, as they help you blend in with steel and stone environments.
Its usefulness inside buildings is why it's so highly regarded. Yes, much of the game takes place outside, but you do enter several buildings during the game. Doing so dressed as a pile of leaves wouldn't be very effective, so the Splitter camo is needed.
Desert Tiger
How To Acquire
Either select "I like MGS 2" at the start of the game or complete your first playthrough.
Bonus Effects
Prevents suppressors from wearing out.
You never travel to a desert while playing Metal Gear Solid Delta, but the Desert Tiger uniform is still a good one to use. It is effective when you sneak about the mountain areas and in certain mud-covered places.
Yet, its impact on your camo index isn't the main reason to use this outfit. The uniform also prevents suppressors from wearing out. If you're someone who enjoys regularly shooting enemies with your silent weapons, then running out of suppressors can be an issue, unless you're wearing this camo.
Tiger Stripe
How To Acquire
Unlocked by default.
Bonus Effects
None
Many of the best camos have something special about them. That is not the case with the Tiger Stripe uniform, though. It's simply a nice all-around outfit. This is because it gives you a high camo index in most outside areas in the game.
It allows you to blend into wooded, grassy, and muddy areas very effectively. So, there aren't many places outside where you'd get less than a 70+ camo index with Tiger Stripe. It's also a nice-looking outfit that suits most cutscenes.
Woodland (Face Paint)
How To Acquire
Unlocked by default.
Bonus Effects
None
Face paints aren't as celebrated as uniforms when it comes to Metal Gear Solid Delta camo, but Woodland deserves a lot of praise. After all, it's the most useful face camo in the game since it works in so many different areas.
It helps you blend in with trees, leaves, and grass. Since you spend most of your time in places that contain those three things, you can get a lot of use out of this paint throughout any playthrough. In fact, you rarely have to take it off.
Sneaking Suit (PW VER.)
How To Acquire
Unlocked by downloading the Sneaking DLC pack.
Bonus Effects
Makes footsteps silent and boosts life recovery rate.
The Sneaking Suit from Peace Walker is great for those who like to be stealthy. For starters, it's a sneaking suit, so it keeps you well-hidden in most areas by giving you a decent camo index.
More importantly, though, this suit eliminates the sound of your footsteps. As a result, you sneak around far more effectively, making it especially useful when creeping up behind guards. As an added bonus, the outfit increases your life recovery rate, so it helps keep you alive as well as hidden.
Sneaking Suit
How To Acquire
Find inside a locker in the Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab on your second visit..
Bonus Effects
Cuts the damage you take in half and reduces your stamina consumption.
Most of the strongest snakes in the series have signature sneaking suits. The one in Metal Gear Solid Delta lives up to its name by generally giving you a good camo index score, meaning it keeps you fairly well-hidden in most places.
Yet, it doesn't just help you in stealth sequences. It's also useful in a fight because you take 50 percent less damage when wearing the uniform. On top of that, your stamina consumption is reduced. So, it's a suit that helps you in several ways.
Flecktarn
How To Acquire
Either select "I like MGS 3" at the start of the game or complete your first playthrough.
Bonus Effects
Stops battery drain.
The standout feature of the Flecktarn camo is that it prevents battery drain. Therefore, if you frequently use thermal goggles, night-vision, the motion detector, or any other item, then this camo is perfect for you.
Moreover, it's also a uniform that keeps you well-hidden in plenty of different places in the game. This is because it has a brown and green texture, designed to allow you to blend into the forest. Since most of the game takes place in a forest, it's very useful.
Moss
How To Acquire
Hold up The End during the boss battle against him.
Bonus Effects
Allows you to heal and regain stamina using sunlight.
The Moss camo is a challenging one to obtain, as you must hold up The End during the tough battle against him. Thankfully, it is worth the effort since it's one of the best uniforms when it comes to blending in.
In certain areas, you can get a 100 percent camo index while wearing this thing. Another great aspect of this camo is that it gives you photosynthetic capabilities. This means your health and stamina increase whenever you're in sunlight, which is a handy feature.
