Snake's mission in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater places him in a jungle in a foreign country. The only backup he has is the people on the radio and EVA, with whom he occasionally meets up. None of these people are experts on everything about the area and the things you encounter. So, you may need to prise some information from the enemy. You can do this through the use of interrogation.

It's a CQC technique that can be very useful for gaining valuable knowledge. However, the game doesn't give you a detailed tutorial on how to interrogate people. So, here is everything you need to know about it.

How To Interrogate Enemies

To interrogate enemies, you need to use the stalking mechanic (LB, L1, or left shift) to creep up behind an enemy. Then, when you're close enough, hold down the CQC button to grab and hold the guy.

With him held, you can click in the left stick or hit Z on PC to threaten him with a knife. It's at this point that he tells you the information you require.

How To Hold Enemies Up

While the game considers interrogations as a separate thing from holdups, they're similar. However, with holdups, instead of grabbing an enemy, you sneak up and point your gun at them. Then, you keep your gun aimed at them the entire time.

Any enemy that doesn't show an ounce of fear when you're attempting to hold them up is probably going to fight back, so watch out. You can try firing a few warning shots to scare them straight.

What You Get From Interrogating Enemies

When you have a knife to an enemy's throat, they can tell you different things.

They may inform you of secret paths you can go, the location of items, tips for avoiding hazards, the location of enemy patrols, or give you secret radio signals.

If you're looking for items, then you need to do a holdup instead. If you aim at a guy's head or crotch when holding them up, they're more likely to drop an item.

The items they drop vary. Among the things you can get are the secret theater reels, which are a kind of collectible in the game.

What Enemies You Can Interrogate

Interrogation can only be done on regular enemies. Naturally, you can't do it among a crowd of people, as the others will see you. So, you have to sneak up on lonely, unsuspecting guards.

While you can't grab bosses and stick a knife in their throat, you are able to perform a holdup on The End during his boss battle. This means sneaking up behind him while he's lying down and pointing your gun at him. Doing this allows you to get his special camo.
