Magic: The Gathering – The 10 Best Partners For Akiri, Line-Slinger In Commander

Akiri, Line-Slinger is one of the many commanders with partner in Magic: The Gathering that allows you to play two commanders so long as they both have the partner ability. This allows you to synergize with other commanders and give you options to play with more colors in the deck. Thanks to being Boros (red/white) itself Akiri, Line-Slinger gives you two colors to work with immediately on top of the one(s) your partner commander has.

Akiri, Line-Slinger cares about the number of artifacts you control, gaining +1/+0 for each one. Often, this means you want to be playing other commanders that give you the best options for artifacts to make use of this ability.
10 Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder
While Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder does not give you access to more colors, what the card does give you is a way to make Akiri, Line-Slinger a massive threat. If you are building a Voltron list (meaning you want to load up one creature with Equipment and Auras) then Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder is a way to make Akiri even more threatening by giving it double strike.
This partner pairing works best when you build around Equipment. This will not only boost Akiri's stats by its own ability but also by the ability on the Equipment itself.
9 Reyhan, Last Of The Abzan
Reyhan, Last Of The Abzan allows you to play four colors within your deck and have a clear path for a build based around +1/+1 counters. You can stack Akiri, Line-Slinger with counters and even if it ever dies, you can put the same number of counters on another creature.
Since you have access to black, you have plenty of ways to sacrifice your creatures for value. Green has plenty of cards that easily stack +1/+1 counters as well to allow the game to quickly get out of hand in your favor.
8 Tymna The Weaver
One of the biggest weaknesses Boros has is a lack of good card draw options. By partnering with Tymna the Weaver you get access to a fantastic card draw on a commander. You gain access to black as well to allow for more options to keep the cards flowing.

The focus of this partner pairing is generally artifacts and you can mix in cards that create Treasure such as Smothering Tithe and Grim Hireling. This allows you to ramp easily and even if you don't use the Treasure right away, they are boosting Akiri's stats.
7 Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer
Ich-Tekik, Salvage Splicer is another card that cares about artifacts. It comes in with an extra 3/3 token to boost Akiri's stats as a bonus. Since Ich-Tekik is green, you gain access to strong ramp, which lets you get ahead of the mana curve by getting lands out directly from your deck. Boros usually struggles with ramp so this is a very welcome addition.
There are plenty of cards that make Golems take advantage of Ich-Tekik's other effect in Naya (green/white/red) as well. Since Golems are artifact creatures, flooding the battlefield with these cards gives Akiri more attack as well.
6 Rebbec, Architect Of Ascension
One of the main strategies for Akiri, Line-Slinger is playing artifact cards, and Rebbec, Architect Of Ascension is a way to protect those artifacts. Since you are playing so many artifacts of varying mana values, this allows you to ensure they are protected from any kind of removal your opponents may have.
Although Rebbec doesn't offer any extra colors, the protection it gives all your artifacts makes it a worthy partner to run with Akiri. You can play your Equipment spells without having to worry about them being lost to removal before they can be put on a creature.
5 Glacian, Powerstone Engineer
Akiri wants a ton of artifacts on the battlefield and so does Glacian, Powerstone Engineer. If you are playing a deck that wants cards in the graveyard then Glacian, Powerstone Engineer helps to get them there and whatever card you want into your hand.
If you are playing with Equipment, these often don't care if they are tapped or not, which makes them the perfect artifacts to tap for Glacian's ability. Thanks to Glacian's blue color identity you gain access to counterspells and better draw power as well to make sure your battlefield stays safe.
4 Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith
Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith allows you to have a constant stream of artifacts to boost Akiri by simply playing lands. This effect isn't once per turn, so if you're playing fetchlands like Evolving Wilds or Fabled Passage you can get multiple triggers of Toggo.

It even gives you a way to use burn as removal. Since Akiri has vigilance, you can still use the Rock token's effect even after attacking to do two damage to any target. While you lose the Rock token by doing this, with how many lands you tend to play it is hardly an issue to replace the Rock token.
3 Armix, Filigree Thrasher
Armix, Filigree Thrasher is all about how many artifacts you control. They all become not just useful for boosting Akiri's stats, but in acting as removal when Armix, Filigree Thrasher attacks. It even counts artifacts in your graveyard to make the partner pairing even better.
There is no shortage of fantastic artifacts to use in Mardu (black/red/white). While you do have to discard for Armix's ability, there are plenty of artifacts that want to be in the graveyard, including ones with unearth, so you can use them from there anyways.
2 Silas Renn, Seeker Adept
Silas Renn, Seeker Adept gives access to blue and black, which allows you to play more removal, tutors, and counterspells. If you do ever lose an artifact, Silas Renn can easily get it back thanks to having deathtouch, making it less likely for someone to block it.
Silas Renn is an artifact itself, immediately giving a boost to Akiri's statline. There are plenty of artifacts with effects that trigger when going to the graveyard, such as Ichor Wellspring, so being able to easily bring them back as a card advantage engine is a fantastic boost to Akiri, Line-Slinger decks.
1 Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist
Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist is one of the best partner commanders when it comes to Voltron decks. Since there are some powerful Equipment with high equip cost such as Colossus Hammer, being able to cheat around Equipment cost is what makes Ardenn so powerful.
Since Akiri is boosted by all artifacts, this can suddenly load it up with a ton of cards to give it massive stat boosts and evasion on top of Akiri's effect. Even if anything ever happens to Akiri, Ardenn can simply move the cards that were attached to Akiri to another creature to make sure you can still utilize them.
