PostsAmirah wants to use the latest ceramics technology after the Mysterious Man's insulted her and her skills, but a new kiln is not only costly, but difficult to build as well. It's up to you as a Builder and a friend to help Amirah out and get her the Electric Kiln she needs to make pottery-making a lot less of a hassle.
How To Unlock Trial By Kiln
Trial By Kiln becomes available as a side mission once you've reached at least the Buddy level of friendship or higher with Amirah, and you also can't be in a romantic relationship with Arvio or Owen at the time of this quest.
When the quest can be triggered, approach Amirah's home and shop, and you'll run into Arvio trying to convince the Mysterious Man to buy some of Amirah's pottery.
During this quest, the Mysterious Man appears earlier and stays in town longer than usual, so you can take advantage of this and get extra time to buy useful items and recipes from him, like the recipe for the Vintage Pistol.
To Arvio's dismay and Amirah's anger, the Mysterious Man is extremely critical of Amirah's pottery and refuses to buy any, citing that it's basic, and she ought to use a better kiln to make it.
Amirah cites a lack of money and asks the Mysterious Man to provide either a better kiln or provide her with a diagram for one to be built.
You'll get your first dialogue option here, and saying Amirah has the best pottery in the Free Cities will get you three Relationship Points with Amirah, and two with Arvio.
The Mysterious Man will ask for a price of 5,000 Gols for the diagram, then leave Amirah and Arvio to make the decision. They've only got 3,000 Gols in their savings, and from here you'll get another dialogue choice.
- Offering to pay all 5,000 Gols will get you another two Relationship Points with Arvio, and two with Amirah. They'll refuse the offer though, and instead ask if you're willing to pay the difference of 2,000 Gols and you can either accept or deny the request.
- You can suggest that they ask Owen for the money if you don't have the Gols or don't want to spend them, but Amirah is unsure about it.
If you agree to pay the difference, you'll lose 2,000 Gols but gain five Relationship Points with both of them, while answering about Owen or outright refusing gains you no extra relationship points.
Whichever you decide, Amirah will say she'll get the diagram somehow, and the quest will officially be added to your mission log.
How To Build The Electric Kiln
After seven in-game days, you'll get a letter in your mail from Amirah containing the diagram for the Electric Kiln, and either a thank-you message or a message saying she got the money from Owen, depending on your choices.
To make the Electric Kiln, you'll need five materials: a Condenser, a Bloodstone Core, Simple Circuits, Hardwood Planks, and Bronze Pipes.
Electric Kiln Material
How To Obtain It
Condenser x1
Reward when completing The Breach Hazardous Ruins, or when commissioning a dungeon dive to The Breach.
Bloodstone Core x1
Crafted from Bloodstones and Clay at an Intermediate Worktable.
- Bloodstones can be obtained by mining Hard Rocks with a Bronze Pickhammer or better.
- Clay can be obtained by digging in dirt at Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.
Simple Circuits x3
Obtained from excavating Relics in Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.
Hardwood Planks x4
Crafted from Hardwood in a Processor of any tier.
- Hardwood can be obtained by cutting down Deadwood trees with a Bronze Axe or better, or as a potential drop from recycling Fine Wood Scrap.
Bronze Pipes x3
Crafted from Bronze Bars at a Grinder.
- Bronze Bars can be obtained by smelting Copper and Tin Ore together in a Furnace.
- Both Copper and Tin Ore can be found in Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.
Once you've got the Electric Kiln, head to Amirah's house and install the kiln in the open area a few steps right of her home.
Amirah will thank you for helping out, and you'll get the offer to stay and make pottery with her for a time, which gives you one extra Relationship Point, as well as an option to express romantic interest if you answer that you'd love to.
Amirah will express some worry about the machine, and you can get another Relationship Point by saying that she can do it, and again by answering that she was awesome later in the dialogue.
After a short cutscene with you and Amirah painting pottery together and some more dialogue, you'll complete the quest. For helping Amirah, you'll get a reward of 1,000 Gols, 20 Relationship Points with Amirah, 10 Relationship Points with Arvio, 1,250 Experience Points, and 35 Workshop Reputation.
