Tearaway gets a promotional faux-children's show in Japan

Cute game + troubling teeth = profit?
Recommended VideosA lot of people assume that anything cute and weird is bound to sell well in Japan. Like most generalizations about cultural preferences, that assumption doesn’t always hold up. Despite being arguably the cutest, weirdest series Sony has put out in the past ten years, Loco Roco didn’t manage to sell all that well in its home country.
I’d imagine that Tearaway may suffer similar struggles. Not only is it in the Vita (which is still facing its share of install base problems) but it’s cute and weird in a way that feels quite new and unfamiliar. That makes it appealing to some, but a tough sell for others.
Maybe this promotional video will help the game to find its audience. It’s all in Japanese, but don’t let that stop you from experiencing it. The image of a well-meaning man with bad teeth sticking his butt out while talking to a young woman about videogames speaks a universal language that you’re sure to understand.
So, uh, here’s how Tearaway is being promoted in Japan [Tiny Cartridge]
