Tokyo Xtreme Racer stands out in the competitive racing game landscape due to its enticing retro elements that bring a refreshing experience compared to contemporary racing titles. The game offers a fulfilling sense of progression, allowing players to immerse themselves in a single-player street racing adventure.

Nonetheless, the game’s economy can sometimes hinder progression, with players finding it challenging to earn cash quickly. The game does not provide explicit guidance on how to maximize your earnings, making it essential to explore effective strategies to boost your finances.

This guide offers various tips on generating income at every phase of the game, catering to both beginners and seasoned players who have traversed the initial content. Note that I’ve excluded the now-patched ‘reverse drift glitch’ from this guide, as it was addressed in Update Ver.0.10.2.

9 Challenge Non-Racers

Traffic Challenges

In addition to competing against rivals, TXR encourages players to challenge traffic vehicles, a feature not present in earlier versions of the game. While victories over these non-racers yield minimal financial rewards, it’s a viable method to boost your earnings when rivals seem scarce.

8 Upgrade Your Wallet

Avoid Wallet Overflow

The wallet system in TXR presents a soft cap on how much cash you can carry, leading to potential disappointment when you max out your funds. Upgrading your wallet is crucial; without it, you risk losing hard-earned cash.

Prioritize wallet upgrades when possible. While it may not appear as a significant expense initially, the capacity to hold larger sums can lead to substantial earnings, especially during lucky streaks.

7 Near Misses Add Up

Rewarding Daredevil Racing

TXR incentivizes risky driving behaviors by offering players bonuses for performing near misses—when you narrowly avoid colliding with another vehicle. Execute these maneuvers safely to earn instant rewards of at least 1, 000 cp, which can accumulate significantly during races.

6 Long Run Bonus

Enjoy the Journey for Profit

Winning races consistently helps you earn cash, but TXR offers rewards for simply driving extended distances around the map, starting at 100, 000 cp. This is a fantastic source of income, particularly early in the game.

For those who appreciate taking the scenic route, consider equipping the Long Runner skill to further increase your earnings.

5 Drift Bonus

Earnings from Drifting

Discovering the reward for performing drift maneuvers was a surprising moment for me. Successfully executing a drift can grant you a cash bonus based on your speed, potentially earning you up to 30, 000 cp per successful drift.

Integrating this tactic into your races—especially towards the end—can significantly augment your income, allowing for earnings exceeding 40, 000 cp per race.

4 Acquire Money-Related Skills

Maximize Your BP Investment

Your BP points are valuable and should be carefully utilized, primarily for tuning your car and upgrading wallets. If you find yourself with extra BP, investing in money skills can yield higher returns.

Skills like Cruising Enthusiast and Long Runner are particularly beneficial, offering rewards for distance traveled and increasing your long run bonuses, respectively.

3 Challenge the Daikoku Parking Area Trio

Easy Wins in Drag Racing

Even with a modest vehicle, you can challenge and defeat a trio of racers at the Daikoku Parking Area, particularly Gentle Arm Sakae. This race features a straight path, giving you the advantage if your acceleration is superior.

Defeating him and his teammates nets around 60, 000 cp per victory, making it a rewarding endeavor.

2 Challenge The Perfect Revolution

Profitable Wanderer

Among end-game content, battling wanderers and specific boss cars remains a thrilling challenge. Notably, The Perfect Revolution is an easily conquerable foe, offering substantial rewards. After defeating him, feel free to challenge him repeatedly for substantial returns, scaling up to over 100, 000 cp per race as your winning streak increases.

1 Invest in Gloomy Angel

High-Stakes Investment

As a luxury choice, purchasing the Gloomy Angel for 13, 500, 000 cp can greatly benefit players in the endgame. With impressive speed and acceleration stats, although it lacks NOS and tuneability, this car is a powerful investment.

Owning the Gloomy Angel is akin to having a tool for success; expect to recoup your investment quickly through race victories.
