Update: Our latest revision includes an interactive map highlighting Yiga Clan Hideouts within Tears of the Kingdom, placed conveniently in the first section of this page.

The Yiga Clan, a notorious group of Sheikah ninjas, continues to pose a significant threat throughout Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. With some clever tactics, you can unearth even the most obscure hideouts!

This iteration of the Yiga Clan brings variations compared to their previous appearances. Within The Depths of the game, various Yiga Clan elements require your attention, while on the surface of Hyrule, you must locate several Yiga Clan Hideout Bases to unlock exclusive rewards.

The main hurdle lies in pinpointing these bases, as they are unmarked on your map. Each discovered Yiga base will present a prop map that offers clues about additional Yiga Clan activities in Hyrule, or you can rely on our guidance!

Yiga Clan Hideout Locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Presented here is an interactive map that showcases Yiga Clan hideout locations across Hyrule, followed by detailed descriptions of the three essential Yiga Clan hideouts you must conquer to gain entry to the fourth and final hideout, encompassing numerous unique rewards.

Yiga Base #1 – Akkala Ancient Tech Lab

The Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, previously a crucial location for Link in Breath of the Wild (BOTW), is now under Yiga Clan control. Robbie has relocated to Lookout Landing and later to Hateno Village.

If you are unfamiliar with BOTW, this hideout is situated in the northeastern corner of Hyrule’s map, with the nearest landmark being the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower located within the Akkala Highlands.

This base is relatively accessible; as you approach from the East Akkala Stable, you’ll encounter some monsters and confirm the Yiga Clan’s presence.

Once you reach the lab, knocking on the door will initiate a skirmish with a couple of Yiga members. After defeating them, enter to rescue a captive and obtain a piece of the Yiga Uniform, essential for later missions.

Yiga Base #2 – The King’s Hut

Returning players of BOTW will recognize the King’s Hut as a pivotal site from the early part of that game, situated on the Great Plateau—a prominent raised area bordered by walls on the southwest side of Hyrule Field.

To the south of the Temple of Time, a fragmented forest lies in the shadow of Mount Hylia, where the enigmatic old man from BOTW used to reside. In Tears of the Kingdom, this hut has fallen into the hands of the Yiga Clan.

Similar to the first base, approach the door to initiate combat with Yiga footsoldiers. After you’ve eliminated them, enter the hut to uncover another piece of Yiga armor and to stage another rescue.

Yiga Base #3 – Hillside Hideaway

The third Yiga base is less conspicuous, largely due to its lack of association with a significant landmark from BOTW.

To locate it, head directly north of Hyrule Castle toward the Great Hyrule Forest and Korok Forest. The base is positioned to the left of the forest’s moat, roughly one-third up the forest’s landmass.

You will find it in close proximity to the Aldor Foothills, which is north of Elma Knolls, a location that features a small chasm leading down to The Depths. It’s also just east of the Kiuyoyou Shrine at Rowan Plains.

The base itself is carved into the hillside, marked by the typical Yiga statues. Inside, however, the layout is more complex, requiring you to clear various rooms filled with Yiga foes. While you will not find an outfit piece or a captive here, look upwards! A hidden room exists above the main area, accessible via Ascend or by starting a fire to glide upwards, where you can complete the final rescue and obtain the last piece of the Yiga armor set.

Infiltrating the Yiga Hideout in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The purpose of these three hideouts is to collect the outfit pieces necessary for donning a complete Yiga Uniform. With the Yiga Mask, Armor, and Tights equipped, make your way to the central Yiga Base, located at the base of the Gerudo Highlands, directly east of the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower.

Fans of BOTW will recall that this location serves as a critical point for the Yiga side quest in that game.

Approaching the base without the uniform results in an immediate attack and lockdown of the area. Conversely, if you don the outfit, you will gain entry. Remain in uniform; otherwise, you’ll risk exposure!

This base serves as more of a bonus area. The central Yiga storyline in Tears of the Kingdom expands into the abandoned mines located within The Depths. Inside this base, discover several shops that offer various goods, along with inventive vehicle and weapon-building ideas using the Ultrahand feature, and a special mini-game.

The mini-game involves battling Yiga footsoldiers, challenging you to defeat as many as possible within a minute. Rewards are given for taking down 3, 6, or 9 Yiga during a session, which costs 100 Rupees to enter.

Defeating 3 Yiga will earn you a Yiga Clan Fabric for your Paraglider, while beating 6 grants you the Earthquake Technique—a combat skill favored by Yiga Blademasters. If you manage to conquer 9 Yiga, you’ll receive a lightning-resistant helm.

The helm and the Earthquake Technique are highly beneficial and represent the main rewards of this quest line. After claiming your rewards, make your swift exit from the base.
