HoYoverse has unveiled an exciting lineup of ZZZ 2.0 banners during the recent anniversary livestream. This update promises to be packed with thrilling new content, including the introduction of three fresh characters and the welcome return of two beloved figures. Additionally, a brand new Bangboo character has emerged to celebrate the arrival of siblings on the Waifei Peninsula. While not directly tied to the banners, there’s notable news for fans of Ellen, as she’s received an upgrade, ensuring she remains a viable option for those who recruited her in earlier iterations.

Phase One of the ZZZ 2.0 Banners: Featuring Yixuan and Astra Yao

The first phase of banners will become available on June 6, 2025, marking the launch of ZZZ 2.0. This phase introduces Yixuan, a new S-rank character, alongside Astra Yao who is recognized as one of the top support characters in the game.

Yixuan stands out not only as a brand-new S-rank addition but also marks the introduction of a revolutionary damage type called Rupture. This class of agents bypasses a portion of an enemy’s defense, inflicting damage based on a unique statistic named Sheer Force, which integrates both attack power and health. Notably, Yixuan utilizes adrenaline instead of energy for her EX Special and features two distinct ultimate forms.

Astra Yao enhances gameplay effectiveness by naturally buffing attack powers through her presence and efficient character swaps. Pulchra excels as a Stun agent, providing on-field support even when not actively engaged in combat. Pan Yinhu, a charming newcomer, adds a twist to defense strategies with his protective skills, though he remains less explored in terms of his combat dynamics compared to other defenders like Seth and Ben—who typically exhibit slower response rates in high-pressure Shiyu Defense scenarios.

Additionally, the first banner will see the inclusion of an S-rank Bangboo character named Belion.

Phase Two of the ZZZ 2.0 Banners: Introducing Ju Fufu and Caesar

The second phase will commence midway through the version update, showcasing another new S-rank character, Ju Fufu, alongside Caesar, a returning defense agent who challenges the conventional slow defender trope.

Ju Fufu’s combat style incorporates supportive elements, as her chain attack offers a critical damage enhancement to the team. She can amass and utilize Might and Momentum stacks to unleash damage that combines physical and fire elements. In contrast, Caesar provides robust protection through a shield that remains active during her absence from the battlefield, alongside a passive ability that debuffs foes.

Ben operates as a heavily armored fighter, able to inflict significant damage and withstand attacks, while Corin introduces a unique mechanic with a buzzsaw integrated into her maid tools, making her attacks particularly effective. As a free ZZZ character, players who secure her through banner pulls will have the opportunity to activate at least her first Mindscape Cinema ability.

Furthermore, participants in ZZZ 2.0’s anniversary celebrations can look forward to earning a complimentary S-rank agent and W-Engine through standard banners, enhancing accessibility to powerful characters.
