Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has recently welcomed Madden NFL 25 into its ever-expanding library, marking this as the second noteworthy addition for February 2025 and the 14th release since the beginning of the year.

Released in mid-August 2024, Madden NFL 25 faced a mixed reception from players and critics, achieving an average score of 69 on OpenCritic along with a 36% recommendation rate. User feedback has mirrored the critical perspective, landing the game with “Mixed”reviews on Steam—a sentiment that continues to resonate six months post-launch.

EA Sports’ much-debated football title made its debut on Microsoft’s subscription service on February 6, 2025. In addition to being available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Madden NFL 25 can also be played via PC Game Pass and streamed through Xbox Cloud Gaming, exclusive to XGP Ultimate subscribers.

Notably, despite the criticism regarding gameplay mechanics and monetization strategies, Madden NFL 25 achieved considerable commercial success. As reported by Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, it was the sixth best-selling game in the U. S.for 2024, impressively reaching this status with only a few months of sales.

Will Madden NFL 25 Be Available on Xbox Game Pass Standard?

Madden NFL 25, like all titles from Electronic Arts on Microsoft’s platform, is part of the EA Play catalog. Consequently, it is unlikely to ever become available on Xbox Game Pass Standard. Players interested in accessing the game through their subscription will need either the PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

In addition to Madden NFL 25, Xbox Game Pass has two confirmed new titles slated for February 2025. The first is Kingdom Two Crowns, a charming indie strategy game where players assume the role of a monarch defending their realm from invading creatures. Originally released in December 2018, it enjoyed a prior run on Xbox Game Pass until December 2021. Following this, the fantasy RPG Avowed from Obsidian will make its day-one release on February 18. It’s worth noting that Xbox Game Pass will lose several titles, including Tales of Arise and Indivisible, just days before these additions.
