Where to Find Frankfurt Steel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players have the opportunity to either purchase equipment or engage in the rewarding process of crafting their own items at a smithy’s forge. Not only is crafting a more budget-friendly option, but it also allows for the creation of superior items when done skillfully. One essential component in your crafting endeavors will be Frankfurt Steel, which is crucial for a variety of schematics.
While Frankfurt Steel is relatively accessible, players who have not advanced far in the main storyline may find it challenging to acquire. However, progressing through the quests unlocks easier access to this valuable resource.
How to Purchase Frankfurt Steel in KCD2
You can secure a reliable supply of Frankfurt Steel once you gain full access to Trosky Castle, where it is available for purchase from the resident blacksmith. However, entering the castle requires completion of several quests, taking some time to achieve.
Your first objective is to complete the Wedding Crashers quest, which can be initiated by visiting either the miller in Lower Semine or the blacksmith in Tachov. You only need to finish one of these two sub-quests. After attending the wedding at Semine, the For Whom The Bell Tolls quest will automatically begin, centering around Trosky Castle. To gain your freedom and access more areas, you will also need to complete this quest.
Finding Frankfurt Steel Through Looting
Frankfurt Steel can also be acquired through various loot encounters throughout the game. However, keep in mind that loot contents are randomized, meaning what you find may differ from other players’ experiences or even from save to save.
Loot Locations in Semine
In Semine, look for a chest located in the horse trader’s barn. You will need to unlock it with a medium lock pick skill or find the key, which is conveniently hanging on a wooden pillar near the entrance to the horse pasture. Wait for midnight to grab the key, then head upstairs to access the chest. Inside, you’ll discover three pieces of Frankfurt Steel alongside various crafting materials, including a weapon schematic.
Looting Opportunities in Apollonia
Another valuable chest can be found in Apollonia, situated directly east of Trosky Castle. Locate a cave at the end of the path shown on the map above, and navigate to the right until you encounter two sets of ladders, one leading over the other. Ascend, then follow the left tunnel.
In this expansive cavern featuring a central tree, you will find a locked chest. The key to this chest is concealed beneath a skull next to the tree. Inside the chest, you could find two pieces of Frankfurt Steel, around 200 Groschen, and assorted junk items.
Be sure to collect the jugs of Ancient Moonshine located within the cave; they are highly beneficial for restoring numerous stats and can also be sold for a substantial profit.
