Early-Game Rune Farming Highlights

Caelid’s Militiamen

The premier early-game Rune farm can be found in Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, which is accessible through a portal located near the beginning of your journey.

Begin your quest at the Third Church of Marika Site of Grace, situated in the northeastern part of Limgrave. Look for a portal hidden amongst the bushes directly north of the church that leads to Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, specifically the Bestial Sanctum.

Upon arrival, mount your horse and navigate past the formidable enemy blocking your path. Ride downhill to find the Farum Greatbridge Site of Grace, where you can rest.

From here, crouch and stealthily ascend the hill to ambush the small Militiamen lurking in the area. Exercise caution, as they can quickly eliminate low-level players, but with practice, you’ll be able to surprise and defeat them with ease for 1, 000 Runes each.

Limgrave’s Trolls

Head to Stormhill within Limgrave, where you’ll encounter a group of five trolls awaiting your challenge. This area becomes accessible once you’ve acclimated to tackling tougher foes.

Start your expedition from the Warmaster’s Shack Site of Grace. Move southeast and descend the cliffs slightly.

Each troll grants 1, 000 Runes upon defeat. After dispatching them, you can reset at a nearby Site of Grace and repeat the process.

Late-Game Rune Farming Strategies

Mohgwyn Palace Albinaurics

The most lucrative late-game Rune farming location is found in Mohgwyn’s Palace, which requires completing a straightforward high-level quest.

Return to The First Step, where you’ll find a marker near the NPC Varre, assuming you haven’t eliminated him. This marker directs you to the Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes, located just south of Raya Lucaria.

After speaking with him, respond with “they didn’t seem right” and he will send you on a quest to invade three other players using the Festering Bloody Finger items he provides.

Once you’ve completed these invasions, return to Varre, who will require you to gather the blood of a maiden using the Lord of Blood’s Favor item.

To find the maiden, go to the Church of Inhibition in northern Liurnia of the Lakes. Be prepared for a dangerous encounter with an NPC invader named Vyke, whom you can defeat or escape.

Once you achieve your goal, return to the Rose Church to hand over the blood. You will then receive the Pureblood Knight’s Medal, allowing you to access a high-level area renowned for its Rune potential.

Upon arrival, locate a Site of Grace to establish a respawn point. Then, proceed to eliminate the passive Albinauric enemies along the ledge, each providing a rewarding 2, 000 Runes.

Travel east from the Dragonbarrow West Site of Grace until you reach Fort Faroth, home to half of the Dectus Medallion. You’ll encounter a giant sleeping white dragon there.

This dragon remains passive, providing an excellent opportunity for efficient farming. Defeating it will not only yield 80, 000 Runes but also five Dragon Hearts, useful for specific Incantations.
