Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 invites players into a captivating medieval realm, rich with detailed characters, enchanting towns, and the deep lore of Bohemia. The game intricate storytelling is supported by an array of heroic main quests that deliver memorable experiences, valorous choices, and daunting challenges.
Players face situations that range from heroically rescuing nobles to brutally massacring entire towns filled with innocent lives.Personally, I’ve reloaded earlier saves numerous times, simply to relive the stunning cutscenes and enjoy the epic dialogues present in every quest. Each mission feels like a true work of art, imbued with more passion and creativity than many contemporary full-length games.
10 The King’s Gambit
To Victory!
In the Kuttnerberg region, players guide Henry into King Sigismund’s meeting, where he must disguise himself as a waiter and serve goblets to the nobles ahead of the king’s entrance. Meanwhile, the gameplay alternates to Godwin, who is rallying Noble Allies for Lichtenstein, urging players to interact with townsfolk, perform favors, and possibly strategize a marriage for Capon to secure an alliance. The quest culminates in a unique interaction with the Hungarian King, providing profound insights into his character.
This quest stands out as the only non-combat encounter in the game, fostering engaging dialogue that encourages players to listen and immerse themselves in the narrative. Surprising revelations about the king’s nature and hints at a secret ending make this experience even richer.
9 Back In The Saddle
Something Is Not Right Here
As Hans earns his status as a noble, he and Henry are tasked with delivering a message to Nebakov Castle. What seems straightforward quickly escalates; by speaking with locals, players uncover that bandits have taken the castle, and Sir Jaromier, its rightful owner, is imprisoned in a cellar.
Approaching stealthily to engage with him can unlock an alternative ending cutscene with Von Bergow, rewarding those who take the time to explore. Choosing to ignore the discussions will leave players unaware of the surrounding bandits and all the content hidden from those who rush through.
8 Wedding Crashers
Eat, Dance, Duel… And Duck?
Arriving at Olga’s wedding is a victory in itself, offering players the chance to celebrate with lively dances, toasts with Moravian guests, engaging in duels with knights, and enjoying a feast, topped off by an endearing wedding ceremony.
However, the festivity is interrupted by an unexpected brawl where Henry must defend himself. This quest is particularly enjoyable due to its cheerful atmosphere and entertaining side activities, culminating in a satisfying plot twist involving Godwin during the closing cutscene.
7 The Reckoning
I Remember Everyone I Killed, Don’t You?
During the Suchdol siege, Henry and his half-brother Samuel heroically volunteer for reinforcements. But as circumstances unfold, Samuel goes missing when Henry descends the castle walls.
This quest offers numerous layers of complexity. While the primary aim is to flee on horseback, abandoning Samuel means potentially leaving a double-crossing adversary unchallenged and failing to confront Markwart.
6 Dance With The Devil
Can’t You Carry Out A Simple Task?
Zizka’s plan to assault Melashov Castle presents an intense challenge, demanding clever strategies and combat prowess.
In collaboration with the Dry Devil, players must either distract guards while weighing the consequences of allowing an entire village to burn or engaging in a duel for their salvation. Each choice not only influences the mission’s outcome but also drastically affects the larger narrative.
Engagement in negotiations with Von Bergow at the quest’s conclusion further impacts Henry’s romantic aspirations with Rosa, highlighting the quest’s depth. Storming a castle, defeating formidable opponents, and rescuing Rosa distinctly mark this segment as a highlight of the game.
Exodus 5
Need A Helping Hand?
When news breaks of a slaughter orchestrated by Erik’s soldiers, Henry, Sam, Lichtenstein, and Kubeyneka rush to protect the Jewish community. This quest involves defending innocents from combatants and ensuring their safe escape from danger.
Though this mission is straightforward, a powerful cutscene featuring Kubyenka, paired with poignant dialogue, elevates its emotional weight, leaving a lasting impact on players.
4 For Whom The Bells Toll
You Can’t Hang Him, He Is A Noble!
Upon reaching Trosky Castle, Hans reveals his noble status, yet the chamberlain dismisses him, sentencing him to hang for poaching.Henry races against time to reach Captain Thomas, the sole figure able to testify to Hans’s nobility.
My journey took unexpected turns as I clashed with guards along the way, but ultimately I secured a potion to alleviate Thomas’s illness. As a climactic cutscene unfolds, the stakes become high when Otto Von Bergow reappears, averting disaster for both Hans and Henry.
The versatility in completing this quest remains a delightful hallmark, allowing even seasoned players to discover new strategies with each playthrough.
3 The Italian Job
Jest And Judgment
A meticulously planned heist unfolds as the gang infiltrates the Italian court, aiming to steal silver while rescuing nobles. Initially, players see everything through Godwin’s eyes as he impersonates a cardinal to navigate the political landscapes of two churches.
While the staff tends to the cardinal, Henry, Adder, Brabant, and Hans are tasked with neutralizing the castle’s guards and obtaining the precious silver.
2 Necessary Evil
The Choice Is Yours
After uncovering a conspiracy where Samine’s son is in collusion with bandits, Otto von Bergow dispatches Hashek to investigate. Upon arriving at Samine’s estate, Hashek loses his temper, putting the old man’s life in jeopardy.
Players are then faced with a harrowing decision: execute Samine and raze his village, or oppose Hashek and protect Samine’s life. Each option bears significant repercussions in the larger storyline, culminating in the escalation of violence against Samine’s home.
This moral dilemma places heavy emotional weight on the player, especially since Samine has shared past adventures with Henry. Personally, I found solace in choosing to save him, despite the larger implications.
1 Judgment Day
The End
After enduring a brutal siege at Suchdol Castle, hope is restored when reinforcements arrive.Sir Radzig delivers a stirring rallying speech as he leads hundreds into battle to reclaim the fortress. Henry, thrust into the chaos, must confront the remaining enemies alongside his comrades.
This climactic and final quest presents multiple endings based on player choices. Questions linger about the satisfaction of Henry’s deceased parents and the survival of characters throughout the narrative, anchoring the weight of your moral decisions.
The conclusion of this journey was gratifying, watching the characters unite once more, assuring Henry’s parents are proud of him—a fitting finale to a memorable saga.
