In an electrifying reveal earlier this May, Tookyo Games, alongside industry stalwarts DMM Games, Exnoa, and Spike Chunsoft, introduced their forthcoming title, Shuten Order. The game is officially set to launch on September 5, 2025, with pre-orders already available on the Steam page. This anticipated release will be accessible on both the Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, and gamers can also look forward to a Digital Deluxe Edition featuring an art book and soundtrack.

The Premise: A World in Peril

As the world faces imminent destruction, a cult known as Shuten Order rises to prominence, igniting chaos amid revelations of humanity’s fate. When the cult’s leader mysteriously dies, the nation state he established is thrown into turmoil just 168 days before calamity strikes. Players will assume the role of the resurrected leader, burdened with the urgent task of uncovering the truth behind his untimely demise within a mere four days.

Gameplay Dynamics: Explore Diverse Narratives

The investigation will unfold across five distinct routes, each leading players to engage with different ministers from the cult. Each path offers a unique gameplay experience, ensuring a rich tapestry of interactions:

• Ministry of Education: A dating simulator providing romantic avenues.
• Ministry of Health: An escape room experience, inspired by games like 999.
• Ministry of Justice: An adventure game reminiscent of the Ace Attorney series.
• Ministry of Science: A visual novel that delves deep into narrative choices.
• Ministry of Security: Described as “stealth action horror, ” promising a thrilling experience.

Successfully navigating all five routes will be essential to uncovering the overarching mystery and experiencing the game’s conclusion.

Shuten Order marks the second major title from Tookyo Games in 2025, following the release of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, which includes creative contributions from notable figures Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi.
