Saber Interactive Develops New Game Inspired by Hasbro’s Major Franchise

Saber Interactive and Hasbro Join Forces for New Video Game
Saber Interactive, a prominent game development studio, is collaborating with Hasbro to create a new video game based on one of the company’s major franchises. This announcement was made by Chris Cocks, who recently transitioned from his role as president of Wizards of the Coast to become the CEO of Hasbro. As reported by The Motley Fool, Cocks expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, considering it a highlight among Hasbro’s upcoming digital collaborations.
We have many new digital collaborations in the works, but I’m especially excited to announce this one today, being a personal fan of many of this team’s games. Hasbro and Saber Interactive will be collaborating on an all-new video game partnership developed by the team behind 2024’s megahit Warhammer 40, 000 Space Marine 2, combining high octane single-player action and amazing multiplayer with Saber’s Swarm Tech. This new AAA title, one of our tentpole IPs, is sure to be a hit.
The excitement surrounding the news has led to widespread speculation about which franchise might be chosen for adaptation. Hasbro boasts a variety of notable intellectual properties that could serve as a foundation for the game, including:
- Transformers
- G. I.Joe
- Power Rangers
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Magic: The Gathering
Among these, the Transformers franchise appears to align best with Saber Interactive’s expertise, particularly following their successful development of Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. Notably, a G. I.Joe game featuring Snake Eyes is already in production at Atomic Arcade, a studio owned by Wizards of the Coast. Additionally, Dungeons and Dragons has several projects in the pipeline, including:
- A co-op game from Starbreeze set to launch in 2026
- A new title in development at Invoke (previously Tuque), which was behind Dark Alliance
- Another game under development by Resolution Games, titled Demeo x Dungeons & Dungeons: Battlemarked
- A project mentioned by Chris Cocks in a previous update
Given the recent cancellation of the anticipated Transformers: Reactivate game at Splash Damage, fans of the franchise may eagerly await this new opportunity. Furthermore, Saber Interactive’s skills in developing shooter games suggest that a Transformers title could be a natural fit. However, details about the project remain scarce, and it may take some time before more information is released.
It’s worth noting that Saber Interactive is also engaged in multiple other ambitious projects, including:
- Turok: Origins
- A triple-A RPG based on Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Jurassic Park Survival
- The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, previously under Aspyr’s management
With nearly 2, 700 employees and numerous offices worldwide, Saber Interactive boasts the capacity to manage a diverse range of high-profile projects simultaneously.
