Streum On Studio Parts Ways with Focus Entertainment, Teasing an Upcoming Game Release

Streum On Studio Reclaims Independence from Focus Entertainment
The renowned Paris-based game developer, Streum On Studio, has officially severed ties with its former publishing partner, Focus Entertainment. This shift marks a significant moment for the studio as it strides back into the realm of independence.
Origins and Early Work
Founded in 2007 by a group of innovative developers known for their work on the mod Syndicate Black Ops for Half-Life, Streum On Studio made its debut in the gaming industry with E. Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy. Released on July 29, 2011, for PC, this first-person action role-playing game utilized the Source engine and immersed players in a dystopian cyberpunk universe inspired by a personal tabletop RPG.
Game Dynamics and Storyline
In E. Y.E., the player takes on the role of a member of the Culter faction, entangled in a power struggle against the totalitarian Federation, a coalition that dominates with an iron grip. The narrative delves into the internal discord between the Jian and Culter factions, highlighting the protagonist’s loyalties to both their superior, Commander Rimanah, and the ambitious separatist known as the Mentor. The Mentor aims to broker peace between the chaotic rival groups while players navigate an intricate web of conspiracies, battles for supremacy, and corporate intrigue.
Recent Projects
After the success of E. Y.E., Streum On Studio expanded its repertoire by venturing into the Warhammer 40, 000 universe. They released the first-person shooters Space Hulk: Deathwing in 2016 and Necromunda: Hired Gun, which launched in 2021. Though Focus Entertainment acquired the studio shortly thereafter, this partnership was relatively short-lived, concluding after four years as Streum On Studio has regained ownership of its shares.
