Stardew Valley Quest Board Stars Explained: Their Meaning and Importance
Though Stardew Valley may seem like a straightforward farming simulator at first glance, developer ConcernedApe has enriched the game with a diverse array of Quests that transform the experience into more than just growing crops and raising livestock. Players encounter two distinct categories of quests: Story Quests and Help Wanted Quests.
Help Wanted quests serve as optional side quests available on the bulletin board found outside Pelican Town’s General Store. Engaging in these quests not only helps players to earn extra cash but also boosts their relationships with local villagers. Following the release of the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, the Help Wanted board now prominently displays a star counter in the upper left corner, enhancing the gameplay experience.
Understanding Help Wanted Quest Board Stars
The Help Wanted board features a three-star counter introduced in the 1.6 update. It’s crucial to note that these stars do not indicate the quest’s difficulty; instead, they track your progress towards earning Prize Tickets.
For every Help Wanted quest you complete, you earn one star. Accumulating three stars triggers a reward: your next completed quest will grant you a Prize Ticket. Once you receive your ticket, the star counter resets to zero, ready for your next quests.
Since players can undertake multiple Help Wanted quests simultaneously, it can sometimes be challenging to know when you are due for a Prize Ticket. To simplify tracking, focus on completing these tasks one at a time.
Introduction to Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley
In Stardew Valley, Prize Tickets serve as a special form of currency that can be exchanged for valuable rewards at the prize machine located within Mayor Lewis’s house. This machine dispenses a variety of enticing rewards ranging from seeds and artifacts to crafting materials and even rare items.
The Prize Machine conveniently displays the upcoming three prizes, allowing players to strategize their efforts. Notably, the first 22 prizes are predetermined, after which the machine cycles through a selection of nine different prizes.
In addition to completing Help Wanted quests, players can also earn Prize Tickets by fulfilling Special Orders, which are more complex quests unlocked during the Fall of the first year. Winning events such as the Egg Festival and the Festival of Ice on multiple occasions can also net players additional Prize Tickets. Furthermore, during the Stardew Valley Fair, players can purchase extra Prize Tickets for 1, 000 Star Tokens each.
