Ready or Not: Tactical FPS Set for Console Release in Summer 2025

VOID Interactive has officially announced that their tactical first-person shooter, Ready or Not, will be making its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in the summer of 2025. This news was revealed during a recent announcement, exciting fans of tactical gameplay.

Gameplay Overview

Ready or Not immerses players in the role of contemporary SWAT teams tasked with navigating high-stakes situations where discretion is paramount. The game emphasizes tactical engagement over reckless shooting, as successful missions prioritize apprehending suspects without unnecessary force. This unique approach sets it apart in a genre often defined by aggressive gameplay.

Development Timeline and Launch History

Originally released in Early Access in December 2021, Ready or Not achieved its full launch with Version 1.0 in December 2023. Fast forward to a little over a year later, and the tactical title is now gearing up for its debut on consoles.

Challenges and Successes

From its inception in 2017, Ready or Not has faced numerous hurdles, including a brief removal from Steam due to trademark disputes, and controversy surrounding a level depicting a bomb threat at a school. This latter issue prompted a clarifying statement from the development team to address concerns.

Despite these challenges, the game has been well received, boasting a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam with over 180, 000 user reviews.
