Bandai Namco Reports Record Profits for Q3 FY2025

In its recent Q3 FY2025 financial report, Bandai Namco revealed a remarkable increase in profits, primarily driven by successful titles such as Elden Ring and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. The company’s toy segments, notably its Gundam model kits, also played a substantial role in this financial success.

Stellar Growth in Financial Performance

Compared to the same period last year, Bandai Namco has experienced a dramatic increase in profitability. The company reported its game division profits soaring from approximately ¥1.5 billion to an impressive ¥70 billion. Overall, total profits climbed sharply from ¥78 billion to a staggering ¥179 billion, with the gaming sector accounting for the most substantial gains.

Success of Key Game Titles

Factors contributing to this significant growth include the booming sales of Elden Ring alongside its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. The expansion not only drew attention but also stimulated additional sales of the base game. Likewise, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero enjoyed a successful launch, achieving five million copies sold since its October 2024 debut.

Gundam’s Continued Popularity

Furthermore, the popularity of Gundam merchandise has remained robust. Sales of Gundam model kits contributed notably to the company’s financial achievements. In addition, Bandai Namco highlighted the box office success of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, which brought in approximately $2.9 million domestically. An updated version of the film featuring a new epilogue has since been released, continuing its commercial triumph.

Upcoming Releases

Both Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero and Elden Ring are currently available across platforms including PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, fans can look forward to Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new multiplayer spin-off set to launch in 2025.

With a strong performance across its gaming and merchandise divisions, Bandai Namco is clearly positioned for sustained success in the competitive entertainment landscape.
