CAPCOM Reports Record Year Driven by Monster Hunter Wilds

CAPCOM has marked another significant milestone following the successful launch of Monster Hunter Wilds. The impressive sales performance of this title, along with other previous entries, has propelled the company to achieve record-breaking results for the fiscal year.

Financial Highlights and Sales Growth

Recent financial disclosures reveal that for the fiscal year ending March 31, CAPCOM reported a remarkable net sales of 169.6 billion yen and an operating income of 65.8 billion yen. These figures represent an 11.3% rise in sales and a 15.2% increase in operating income compared to the previous year.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Impact

The substantial success of CAPCOM’s Digital Contents Business was largely credited to Monster Hunter Wilds, which remarkably shipped 10 million units within its first month of release. Additionally, enduring fan favorites like Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise have continued to bolster sales, pushing the total units shipped in the franchise to over 100 million worldwide.

Future Outlook for CAPCOM

Looking ahead, CAPCOM is optimistic about maintaining this upward trajectory. Projections for FY2026 anticipate net sales exceeding 190 billion yen and operating income reaching 73 billion yen, signifying expected increases of 12% and 11% respectively. Currently, the upcoming lineup includes remasters and ports, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword slated as the only new title confirmed for 2026. However, there are expectations for surprise announcements before the fiscal year concludes on March 31, 2026.

User Experience and Gameplay Insights

While some players have noted low difficulty levels and occasional performance issues, the acclaim garnered by Monster Hunter Wilds is well-deserved. Its open-world design enriches the gameplay experience, enhancing engagement through dynamic exploration and flexible combat strategies.
