PS Plus May 2025 Game Additions: Balatro, Ark: Survival Ascended, and Warhammer 40K: Boltgun

Exciting Additions for PS Plus Subscribers in May 2025
PlayStation Plus subscribers have much to look forward to this May, as they will be able to enhance their libraries with the inclusion of Balatro, Ark: Survival Ascended, and Warhammer 40, 000: Boltgun. These titles will become available on May 6, 2025, across all PS Plus tiers, including the essential level.
Upcoming Additions and April’s Last Chance
As highlighted in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, subscribers have until May 5, 2025, to claim the current month’s offerings: RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. After this date, these titles will no longer be available, making it essential for members to seize the opportunity.
Current Challenges in the PS Plus Catalog
While the new additions for May are enticing, the latest updates to the PS Plus catalog bring a mix of excitement and concern. Just recently, Sony announced the removal of over 20 games from the PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium catalogs, affecting several first-party titles, including the beloved Resistance series. Unfortunately, these titles are not accessible on the PS5, except through the premium classics library.
Price Increases and Content Removal
These removals feel particularly unsettling against the backdrop of a recent price increase for PS Plus subscriptions in over 20 countries, which has already impacted regions such as Canada, Australia, and several Southeast Asian nations. The U. S.remains unaffected for the time being, but the global price adjustments have raised eyebrows among subscribers.
Noteworthy Departures from the Service
In addition to the aforementioned titles, other significant games facing imminent removal from the service include Grand Theft Auto V, Ghostrunner, and Infamous: Second Son. The latter, while still playable on both PS4 and PS5, represents another first-party loss from the lineup, highlighting an ongoing trend that has potential implications for subscribers.
Looking Ahead: What’s Next?
The new titles for May will remain available until June 2, by which time it will be interesting to see what new games Sony announces for June 2025. Subscribers are eagerly anticipating these updates to maintain engagement and satisfaction with the PS Plus service.
