The Evolution of Plague Inc and Its New Sequel

Since its release in 2012, the strategy simulation game Plague Inc has captivated a massive audience, particularly surging in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The game’s premise revolves around the evolution of a pathogen with the ultimate goal of infecting the global population. Expanding on this engaging concept, developer Ndemic Creations introduced the DLC Plague Inc: The Cure, offering players the chance to combat a plague instead of spreading one. To date, the franchise has reached an impressive milestone of 190 million players.

Introducing After Inc: Revival

Ndemic Creations has now ventured into new territory with the release of After Inc: Revival, currently available for mobile devices, with a PC version slated for release in 2025. This new title places players in a post-apocalyptic setting where they must rebuild society following a catastrophic zombie outbreak that nearly annihilated global infrastructure and populations. The game is categorized as “mini 4X,”blending exploration, resource management, and strategic expansion.

Set against the backdrop of a devastated UK, players will traverse ruins to scavenge for resources, establish new settlements, and expand their territories to accommodate housing, farming, and other necessities. The game features a diverse array of leaders and even presents players with the challenge of defending against zombie infestations. Throughout their rebuilding efforts, players will be confronted with profound moral dilemmas, such as:

• What is the preferable political structure: democracy or authoritarianism?
