In a recent post on Bluesky, Erin Fitzgerald, who is known for voicing Chie Satonaka, revealed that she has yet to be approached by Atlus regarding her role in a possible remake of Persona 4. This statement follows comments from Yuri Lowenthal, the original voice actor for Yosuke Hanamura, who announced he would not be returning for any updated version of the popular JRPG.

Fitzgerald expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she had to portray Chie in various entries and spin-offs, emphasizing her enthusiasm despite not having been contacted about future projects. Below is a screenshot of her post on Bluesky:

Shortly after making his statement on May 28, 2025, Yuri Lowenthal deleted his post from social media, raising questions about potential changes regarding the cast for any new releases.

Background on Chie Satonaka’s Voice Actresses

Erin Fitzgerald is recognized as the second English voice actress to bring Chie to life in the Persona series, having debuted in Persona 4 Arena and subsequently voicing her in Persona 4 Golden and other spin-off games. She also lent her voice to the character in the anime adaptation, while the original portrayal was by Tracey Rooney in the initial release of Persona 4. If a remake does occur, Fitzgerald would be the third voice actress in this role, which adds a unique layer to the character’s legacy.

What’s Next for Persona 4?

As of now, Atlus has not made any official announcements about a Persona 4 remake. However, with the Summer Game Fest 2025 approaching, fans are hopeful that any updates could be revealed at the event. The only recent remake from the series has been Persona 3 Reload, which debuted in 2024 featuring the base game initially, with extra content like the FES material released as DLC later.

The original Persona 4 is playable on PS2, while Persona 4 Golden is accessible across multiple platforms including Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Additionally, Persona 3 Reload is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, offering a modernized experience for new players.
