The allure of beautiful tropical islands often masks dark secrets. In Act 4 of Path of Exile II, players encounter thrilling challenges, including a formidable foe known as Diamora, the Song of Death. This optional boss will test your skills like never before!

Located in the stunning Singing Caverns on Whakapanu Island, facing Diamora isn’t just about the battle; the locale is visually spectacular and is filled with valuable rewards. Engaging with this fight is essential if you aim to elevate your trading opportunities in the game, as unlocking the final reward is vital.

This comprehensive guide will walk you through the journey to Diamora and offer strategies to ensure her defeat.

Exploring the Singing Caverns

Once you have secured reliable transportation, navigate to Whakapanu Island. While exploring this beautiful beach resort, it’s advisable to exercise caution before diving into the Singing Caverns sub-area.

Initially, keep an eye out for a Torn Map Piece. This essential quest item will trigger the Forgotten Bounty quest, a quest that is particularly beneficial if you seek a refresher on the endgame mechanics.

Additionally, scout for a boss arena along the shoreline where a rather aggressive shark may be lurking. Defeating the Great White One earns you a Shark Fin, activating the Tribal Medicine quest.

Navigating the caverns can be challenging due to their expansive layout and the density of enemy mobs. Be cautious when you encounter abyssal mechanics. Take your time moving through the area, using tight spaces to your advantage to trap enemies.

Preparation for the Battle

Like many memorable bosses in Act 4, Diamora inflicts significant cold damage through most of her attacks. Therefore, your first order of business is to gather equipment that boosts your Cold Resistance. Note that your cold resistance can reach a maximum of 75%. While that might feel excessive, more protection is always wise.

Considering the frantic pace of the battle, prioritize gear that enhances your mobility. Rather than relying solely on high energy shields or armor, invest in boots that offer movement speed bonuses or consider the Foxshade chest piece for a substantial speed boost. Utilize the vast space of Diamora’s arena to your advantage.

Claw Swipe

This is Diamora’s basic attack where she swipes at you with her jagged claws.

Maintain distance or roll away to evade this attack.

Liquid Pillars

Diamora generates three pillars of water that shoot up from the ground.

Dodge thrice, ensuring a gap between each dodge to avoid the pillars.

Aqua Shot

She fires a rapid barrage of water shots from her mouth, causing damage and knocking you back.

A quick roll to the side will help you escape this attack.

Fly Over

Diamora leaps into the water and glides over the arena, creating pillars of water behind her. This move is executed twice.

Avoid staying in one location to escape being cornered by the pillars.

Tsunami

She produces 2-3 waves that converge on your position in a triangular pattern.

Identify the gaps between the waves and sidestep to prevent heavy damage.

Freezing Yell

Diamora released a chilling scream, inflicting damage and imparting chill status on you.

Anticipate this fast attack and dodge accordingly, as it deals moderate damage.

Death Bubble

She taunts, “Can you breathe?” before summoning a large tracking water orb that can slow and chill you on hit.

When you notice the bubble arising, immediately sprint away to evade significant damage.

Diamora’s Ultimate Attack

Diamora’s final attack deserves individual attention due to its unique mechanics. This attack occurs twice during the battle when she hits approximately 60% and 30% health.

During this phase, you’ll encounter roaming bubbles that float around the arena. These bubbles are lethal; remaining inside one for 3 seconds will result in instant defeat. Be cautious, especially in Hardcore mode!

Song of Stone

When Diamora challenges you with, “Are you stronger than the rest, can you resist the urge to look?”, prepare for her invincible phase. She transforms and emits a bright light from the center, which sweeps across the arena.

To counter this, stay in one area and defeat the foes emerging from the waters. When the light approaches, roll towards its direction to minimize exposure.

Once you triumph over this Siren, return to talk with Ange in Kingsmarch to unlock your first hideout. This feature is a game-changer, enabling you to trade asynchronously—eliminating the delays of waiting for responses and searching for items online. Truly a welcome enhancement!
