Lies of P: Overture Guide – How to Utilize the Golden Seed Effectively
In the inaugural chapter of Lies of P: Overture, players may come across an enigmatic item known as the Golden Seed. Its vague description can leave many wondering about its purpose and how to utilize it effectively in the game.
Like several other non-consumable items in Lies of P, the Golden Seed holds a hidden function. Uncovering this function can lead to valuable rewards, particularly appealing for those who strive to complete every aspect of the game.
Acquiring the Golden Seed

As you progress through Chapter 1 in Lies of P: Overture, keep an eye out for a tree adorned with bird cages along the main path. The nearest Stargazer to this tree is located at the Savanna Experience Center.
When you approach the tree, you’ll hear delightful birds chirping. A warning sign in front of it states “no whistling, ”hinting at the next action you need to take.
Recall from Toma’s side quest in the main game the importance of the Faded Whistle, which you used to communicate with a sick boy through a window.Equip the Faded Whistle and use it in front of the tree.
Upon using the Faded Whistle, the birds will scatter, and the Golden Seed will drop to the ground.
In case you don’t have the Faded Whistle handy, you can retrieve it from the base game. It’s located on a bench with candles next to the Krat City Hall Courtyard’s Stargazer.
Utilizing the Golden Seed
You can’t utilize the Golden Seed until you’ve finalized Chapter 1 in the Lies of P: Overture DLC.
Upon reaching the conclusion of Chapter 1 and locating the Zoo Tram Station Stargazer, hop on the tram to transition to the Eventide Hotel Krat, a version of the hotel from the past.
Once you arrive at the Eventide Hotel Krat, navigate to the upper courtyard where you’ll find the Golden Tree. In the far right corner, there’s a small structure resembling a bird bath.Interact with this bird bath and place the Golden Seed inside.
After planting the Golden Seed, be patient as it will require time to grow. The Golden Seed will not reach its full potential until you complete the entirety of the Lies of P DLC. Once you’ve finished the DLC, return to where you initially planted the seed at the present-day Hotel Krat to collect your reward.
Rewards for the Golden Seed Quest
The Golden Seed’s growth results in a beautiful Golden Rose, which can be displayed on the gramophone situated in the lobby of Hotel Krat. To decorate the gramophone, interact with it and select the corresponding option.
Your character will place the Golden Rose onto the gramophone, adding a unique and decorative touch. A notification will appear on the screen stating, “The gramophone now holds a cherished memory.”
