Overview of Exciting Leaks

  • Recent leaks indicate the potential return of Specialist Scorestreaks in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
  • Game files refer to this feature as “Perkstreaks, ”which will enable players to acquire perks for achieving kill streaks instead of traditional Scorestreaks.
  • This Specialist mechanic was previously featured in 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, letting players trade Scorestreaks for enhanced perks.

According to newly uncovered game files, Treyarch Studios is considering reintroducing Specialist Scorestreaks in their latest title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Following the much-anticipated Season 2 Reloaded update, numerous leaks have emerged concerning upcoming content for both Black Ops 6 and its free-to-play counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone.

The recent Season 2 Reloaded update has reinvigorated Black Ops 6 with a host of fresh content, including a remastered fan-favorite map from Black Ops 2 and an exciting new addition named “Bullet.” This new map has quickly gained traction within the community, earning its dedicated playlist for players to enjoy.

Specialist Scorestreaks: A Returning Feature?

Insight from Call of Duty insider HeyImAlaix suggests that the development team at Treyarch is planning to revive Specialist Scorestreaks in the latest entry of the series. Following the deployment of the Season 2 Reloaded update, Alaix found references to Specialist Scorestreaks buried within the game’s coding, although the feature is not yet operational. In a recent Twitter post, Alaix shared details indicating, “Perkstreaks – Earn perks for kill streaking instead of scorestreaks.” This description closely mirrors how the Specialist system operated in the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare. While this feature was absent in the subsequent releases, its revival in a future Black Ops 6 season seems plausible.

While the presence of Specialist Scorestreaks in game files is intriguing, it’s essential to note that plans can shift during development. While the likelihood of its introduction appears high, nothing is guaranteed. Moreover, leaks from the Season 2 Reloaded files have also hinted at the return of the popular Warzone map, Verdansk. Data miners have indicated that Verdansk will also reintroduce the Resurgence mode, allowing players to respawn as long as their teammates remain active. While no officially confirmed date marks Verdansk’s return, a Spring 2025 timeline is emerging, with a Season 3 unveil expected as early as March.

Season 3 may herald not just the revival of Verdansk but also the reappearance of controversial operators from the Modern Warfare series. Recent leaks suggest characters such as Hudson, Mace, and Roze may make a comeback. While Hudson remains a familiar figure in the Black Ops universe, Mace and Roze are newcomers. The inclusion of Roze, particularly known for a problematic skin that affected in-game visibility at launch, raises questions about whether this skin will also return. Regardless, Season 3 is shaping up to be one of the most compelling chapters in the Call of Duty saga.
