Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Walkthrough for The German’s Treasure Quest
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 presents a series of engaging tasks tailored for budding thieves, with the quest known as The German’s Treasure standing out. However, maneuvering through this particular mission can prove challenging, as the game offers little guidance for players navigating its intricate world.
Following the completion of the Beyond the Grave quest, Rat, your contact, will introduce a new job involving the local innkeeper and a rumored treasure. While the prospect sounds straightforward, the journey to uncover the German’s treasure is laden with obstacles.
Accessing the Tavern Basement for The German’s Treasure Quest
Rat will instruct you to pilfer the treasure belonging to innkeeper Beikovetz, located in the Italian quarter of Kuttenberg. The treasure lies hidden in the inn’s basement, but accessing it isn’t straightforward. The entrance is often guarded, making it nearly impossible to pick the lock. However, if you’re adept at pickpocketing in KCD2, you can swindle the keys directly from the innkeeper.
The basement door is conveniently situated next to the kitchen on the inn’s first floor.
Exploring the Kuttenberg Underground Route
For a stealthier approach, consider utilizing the Kuttenberg Underground during nighttime. You can find its entrance southeast of the city’s southwestern gate. Look for a small opening near an old, ruined tower on your map.
Upon entering, stay to the right. After reaching the Wasteyard Point of Interest (POI), ascend the nearby ladder and continue along the path ahead. This route will ultimately lead you to the inn’s basement, where you may find a few miners asleep.
Locating The German’s Treasure
Within the basement, you can discover five key quest items:
- A Bloodied Wedding Dress located in a locked chest near one of the miner’s beds.
- An Old Painted Statuette found in another locked chest within the adjacent larger room.
- An Old Rusty Sword accompanied by two maps, cleverly hidden behind a loose wall adjacent to the previous chest.
You have the option to loot all available items or just take those concealed behind the wall. After collecting your desired treasures, make your exit via the underground passage or through the basement door, ensuring you remain undetected.
Be prepared, as the chests are secured with Hard and Very Hard locks. If your Thievery skill hasn’t progressed in KCD2, consuming a Strong Quickfinger Potion could enhance your abilities.
After successfully looting the cellar, head to meet Innkeeper Helga, as referenced by Rat. She can be found at her inn situated to the west of Kuttenberg. When you engage in conversation, express your interest in a big-eyed monkey. Helga will initially dismiss the items you’ve gathered as worthless, but if you can successfully navigate a Persuasion check, she will purchase them from you. However, she will not buy the two maps retrieved from behind the wall, so ensure you utilize them wisely.
