Brewing potions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a complex art that involves a meticulous approach to handling various ingredients and tools. Every step in the potion-making process must be executed with precision; any mistakes can lead to wasted time and resources, ultimately resulting in unsatisfactory potions. The effectiveness of your potion will primarily depend on your attention to detail throughout each stage of the brewing process.

A pivotal aspect of brewing numerous potions is the distillation stage, which occurs using the Still positioned on the table in front of Henry. Unlike other steps, distilling requires more care and precision. Here’s a guide on how to successfully distill your potions.

How to Distill Potions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In principle, any potion can be distilled; however, it is crucial to restrict this step to potions that specifically require distillation as part of their finalization process. Distillation culminates in bottling your potion, so it’s vital to ensure all previous steps have been executed correctly, and you are pleased with the recipe adherence. Before you begin the distillation, remember that you’ll need a container to hold the distilled potion.

  • First, acquire a phial from the shelf positioned behind the Still.
  • With the phial ready, interact with the Still to witness Henry pouring the potion into the Still, which will then flow into the phial.

Completing the distillation process into the phial is akin to simply pouring the potion into it. This final step is straightforward and does not influence the quality of your potion directly.

Pouring vs. Distilling Brewed Potions

It is important to only distill a potion if your recipe explicitly instructs you to do so. The concluding instruction of your potion will typically state one of the following:

  • Finally, pour
  • Finally, distill

Choosing the appropriate method does not impact the potion’s quality, as this is primarily dictated by the ingredients used and the timing of boiling during the various stages of the recipe. However, selecting the incorrect method at the final stage can spoil your potion after all your hard work. Referring back to the recipe book between steps is a wise strategy and does not harm the potion—as long as it’s not boiling—making it advisable to take the time to ensure you are on track.
