Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – A Guide to Romancing Rosa

After first encountering Rosa, players may have to wait quite some time before they can pursue a romantic relationship with her. This opportunity arises only after making several strategic decisions and retrieving a book for her during prior quests. If you’re looking for a comprehensive guide on how to romance Rosa in KCD2, you’re in the right place.
Rosa is characterized by her fiery spirit, independence, and intellect. It’s crucial to keep these traits in mind during conversations, as they can significantly impact the outcomes regarding your reputation with her.
Meeting Rosa & Finding Her Book – Taking French Leave
Players will first meet Rosa Ruthard during the Via Argentum quest at Ruthard Manor in Kuttenberg. Later, at the onset of the Taking French Leave quest, Henry gets a unique chance to speak with her privately.
During this conversation, Rosa brings up her cherished book that she has unfortunately left behind. To proceed with your romantic endeavor with Rosa, players should:
- Respond with, “I’ll bring the book, fear not.”
If Henry’s Scholarship level is sufficiently high, he can inquire, “What is that book?“, which will further impress her, though it isn’t mandatory. This dialogue choice will unlock the side task known as Rosa’s Book.
Where to Find Rosa’s Book in Maleshov Castle
Once players gain access to Maleshov Castle during the Taking French Leave quest, they can locate Rosa’s book within the main tower, which is also where the main objective, Hans Capon, resides.
- Upon entering the tower, wait for the guards to finish their conversation with the lady.
- Proceed upstairs and open the door on the left.
- Use stealth to sneak up on Lady Ofka and incapacitate her.
- Retrieve the book, A Book of Humorous Anecdotes, located by the window.
Take the Book Back to Rosa
After successfully acquiring the book, Henry must then return it to Rosa at the Ruthard Palace promptly once the Taking French Leave quest concludes. It’s essential not to advance the main storyline before delivering the book.
- Inform Rosa that you’ve read the book.
- During the skill check, select the response that best suits Henry’s strengths.
- When Rosa inquires about writing a book, respond with, “I would like that.”
- Accept her invitation to continue writing the book together in private.
While co-writing, select the following dialogue options to strengthen your bond:
- A woman.
- She should be clever.
- Only fools say that.
- Good intent.
- If only there were more such books.
- It’s pretty, really.
- I’d like to get to know you better sometime.
Having a high Scholarship level significantly enhances your interactions with Rosa, given her intellectual nature and passion for literature.
Rescuing Rosa from Otto Von Bergow – Dancing With the Devil
As the narrative unfolds during the Dancing with the Devil main quest, Henry joins forces with allies to attempt the recapture of Maleshov castle from Otto von Bergow, only to discover that Rosa has been taken hostage.
When faced with three skill checks, any choice will suffice to potentially secure a peaceful resolution. However, avoid selecting, “There’s no other way. We’re torching the tower!”
If Henry fails a skill check and cannot broker peace, he must ensure Rosa’s safety:
- I refuse to put Rosa in danger!
- I’ll attempt to rescue Rosa.
- Yes, I’ll do it.
Players will then need to venture into the tower to rescue Rosa, which involves battling several enemies simultaneously.
Escort Her Back to Maleshov & Romance Rosa – Oratores
In the Oratores quest, Henry is tasked with aiding Rosa in reclaiming Ruthard Palace through underground tunnels. During this mission, it’s vital to select dialogue that will resonate with Rosa’s character traits, in order to maintain a strong rapport.
A good way to enhance your standing with her is to offer to carry her across any water obstacles. Once at the palace, Henry must deal with wayward ruffians. After handling this threat, proceed to find Rosa in her quarters.
Romancing Rosa in Her Room
Within the confines of her chamber, Henry will at last have the opportunity to romance Rosa, provided his reputation with her is sufficiently high. Opt for the following dialogue responses:
- It’ll all be alright.
- Allies are our most valuable asset.
- I won’t let you go away!
- (Kiss Pink)
This exchange leads into a cutscene that highlights the significance of retrieving her book as a key step toward romancing Rosa in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
