Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – A Complete Guide on Calling Your Horse

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers players vast landscapes across two expansive maps. While walking offers a gameplay option, it’s often inefficient; players will constantly find themselves needing to manage their character Henry’s footwear repairs and seeking frequent rest. Using a horse significantly enhances mobility, allowing you to traverse the game world more swiftly.
Early in your adventure, you can acquire your horse, alongside several alternatives to obtain additional mounts for a faster journey. Below is a detailed guide on how to effectively summon and utilize your horse within the game.
How to Call Your Horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players are allowed to possess a single horse at any given time. Once you obtain your first horse, you can summon it at your convenience. To call your horse, follow the corresponding button prompts:
- PlayStation: Press Triangle
- Xbox: Press Y
- PC: Press X
If you’ve found Mutt, pressing these buttons will summon him instead of your horse. When you whistle for your horse, it will run towards you from behind, unless it is already nearby, in which case it will approach you directly. Regardless of where you leave your horse, you can whistle for it anywhere outdoors, and it will arrive almost instantly. This whistling feature can also be cleverly utilized in stealth contexts to distract potential adversaries.
How to Ride Your Horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Upon summoning your horse, approach it and press the designated buttons to mount:
- PlayStation: Press X
- Xbox: Press A
- PC: Press E
While mounted, a stamina bar replaces the enemy health indicator. This bar depletes when you sprint but regenerates quickly once you stop. Importantly, there is no penalty for fully exhausting the stamina bar. To encourage your horse to run faster, use the spurring commands:
- PlayStation: Press R3
- Xbox: Press the Right Joystick
- PC: Press L Shift
When spurring your horse, a yellow line appears beneath the stamina bar, indicating its current state. However, if you spur the horse excessively to the point where the yellow bar fills up, you risk being bucked off. Therefore, it’s crucial to balance your spurring with careful stamina management. Riding your horse also grants you experience points in Horsemanship, unlocking valuable perks that streamline your riding experience.
