Meet Ignagduk, the Bog Witch, a formidable witch found within the depths of the Azak Bog in Path of Exile 2. Although you can choose to bypass this encounter, taking down Ignagduk is actively encouraged for several compelling reasons.

Defeating her is a crucial step in the Tribal Vengeance quest associated with Servi, and she is among the rare bosses that grant you enhanced Spirit upon her defeat. Spirit is an essential and scarce resource in Path of Exile 2, particularly beneficial for players specializing in Witch builds.

Discovering Ignagduk in the Azak Bog

To confront Ignagduk, navigate through the Azak Bog by first reaching Act 3. As you explore the Infested Barrens, seek out the entrance to this sinister bog.

Once inside, you will need to battle your way to Gor-Gor-Mog, the lair where the Bog Witch resides.

Engaging in the Flameskin Ritual

Before venturing into Ignagduk’s lair, consider completing a nearby task. Just below the lair, you’ll encounter an expansive arena featuring five Pyres encircling a larger central pyre.

This arena is defended by waves of enemies. After dispatching them, interact with the Effigies to illuminate them, completing the Flameskin Ritual and setting off Ignagduk’s Harvest. This ritual grants you a 25% fire resistance boost, which proves beneficial for your upcoming battle against the Bog Witch.

Effective Builds for Confronting Ignagduk

Ignagduk is particularly vulnerable to cold damage, making builds based on Cold Snap or Freezing highly effective. Cold Snap Witch, Cold Snap Sorceress, or Permafrost Merc characters will find this confrontation significantly simpler.

However, completely overhauling your build for one boss encounter may not be practical in PoE 2, as respeccing your skill tree can be costly. Instead, adjusting your spell selections to incorporate more cold damage can be a more economical approach.

While cold damage is ideal, it’s not the only option. Our Infernalist Witch Build also managed to conquer Ignagduk without heavy reliance on cold abilities.

Strategies for Defeating Ignagduk

  • Weakness: Cold
  • Recommended Resistance: Fire Resistance
  • Recommended Level: 35

Preparation for facing the Bog Witch requires substantial fire resistance. Ensure you have cold-damage dealing weapons or spells on hand, as Ignagduk is weak against this type of damage. As the Azak Bog is rated for level 35, aim to be at that level before engaging her.

Be particularly wary of her Bone Blast attack, which is preceded by red ritual circles indicating its location. Evade quickly to avoid damage.

While flying on her broomstick, Ignagduk moves swiftly, but when grounded, she becomes an easier target. Take advantage of her immobility to land hits whenever possible.

Keep an eye on her ritual spells and be ready to dodge the bone channel. If you find yourself caught, retreat quickly to avoid being overwhelmed by flames.

By maintaining awareness of your surroundings and her attack patterns, you can effectively strategize and defeat Ignagduk with relative ease.

Rewards for Defeating Ignagduk

Upon overcoming the Bog Witch, you will earn a variety of random rewards, including two special items: the Gemrot Skull and Ignagduk’s Ghastly Spear.

Ignagduk’s Ghastly Spear is integral for completing the Tribal Vengeance quest with Servi, who provides five charm options as rewards, allowing you to choose one:

  • Analyst’s Thawing Charm of the Plentiful: Grants Immunity to Freeze
  • Investigator’s Staunching Charm of the Medic: Grants Immunity to Bleeding
  • Antidote Charm of the Verdant: Grants Immunity to Poison
  • Sprouting Dousing Charm of the Medic: Grants Immunity to Ignite
  • Grounding Charm of the Doctor: Grants Immunity to Shocked

The Gemrot Skull can be consumed from your inventory, providing an instant reward of 30 Spirit and an Uncut Spirit Gem, which can be utilized to acquire Buff Skill Gems.

Buffs function as spells running continually in the background, delivering various advantageous effects. Although they require Spirit to maintain, the Gemrot Skull ensures you start your buffing process with a solid amount of Spirit.

If you require additional Spirit, several other bosses can drop similar consumables. For instance, The King in the Mists, located in Freythorn, can also augment your Spirit reserves.
