For those familiar with the original Hollow Knight, the Sharp Shadow Charm held immense power, making it a must-have for many players. Its unique ability to enhance mobility and offensive capabilities made gameplay significantly more engaging.
Now, imagine harnessing this very power in the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong. It’s exciting to note that this iteration comes with notable improvements. You will soon possess the ability to dash through enemies, dealing substantial damage with precision.
Prepare yourself for a swift adventure into the Wormways. Trust me, your exploration will be quick and fruitful!
Essential Preparations
Before you embark on your journey into the Wormways, there are several prerequisites to gather.
- Simple Key: Acquire a Simple Key to unlock the door leading to the primary Wormway area. The most accessible location to buy one is from the merchant in Bone Bottom for 500 Rosary beads. Ensure you have sufficient resources before heading out.
- Needolin Ability: Defeat the Widow in Bellhart to gain the Needolin ability. This skill will be crucial for opening another door deep within the Wormways.
- Clawline Ability: Obtain the Clawline ability from The Cauldron located in the Underworks. This area can be complex but is usually accessed during Act 2.
I initially believed that the Faywing cloak was necessary to reach the Needolin door, but after several attempts, I successfully executed a sprint-jump combined with the clawline technique.
Navigating the Wormways
To access the Wormways from Bone Bottom, take the lift towards Mosshome’s edge and jump across the westward gap towards the Wormways’ entrance.
Speed past the acid-spitting creature, and you will soon find the door requiring your Simple Key in the next chamber.
Keep in mind, should your health dwindle, you can restore it using worms. Although they cannot be defeated, they will provide valuable silk.
Move westward through the next corridor, avoiding the worms that drop from the ceiling. Ascend and continue west to arrive at a sizable sandy gap with a door in sight.
Utilize a sprint-jump, then apply your clawline at the peak of your jump to reach the platform. If you find this challenging, consider acquiring the Faywing cloak from Mount Fay; it will be beneficial for future encounters.
Exploring Weavenest Karn
If you have wandered through any Weavenests before, you know they’re hotspots for obtaining exciting equipment upgrades. Utilize your Needolin ability to unlock the door and progress further.
Sadly, this location seems overrun with worms. However, it’s a relatively brief area, comprising a long chamber extending to the left.
Stay to the left and carefully leap over spike pits while dodging the jumping worms that spring from the ground. Soon, you’ll reach a section filled with small platforms amidst a sea of spikes. Expect rapid worm falls from above, necessitating quick jump-dashes.
After successfully navigating through, you’ll encounter the Sharpdart upgrade. Activate your Bind ability to claim your prize.
Sharpdart stands as my favorite Silk Skill thus far. It’s particularly effective against groups of lined-up enemies. If you’re facing troubles in challenging encounters like The Forum in the Citadel, which is teeming with elusive foes, this skill will prove invaluable for swiftly taking down those annoying flying enemies that often evade attacks.
