Last week, Team Cherry unveiled the much-anticipated sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, a thrilling continuation of the beloved Metroidvania series that first captured gamers’ hearts in 2019. However, following its release, a segment of the player base has voiced concerns regarding the game’s perceived high difficulty level, characterized by some as ‘unfair’.In response to this feedback, Team Cherry is preparing to roll out the game’s first update, which promises not only to implement crucial bug fixes but also to make adjustments to the overall difficulty.

Update Details and Beta Availability

This initial update is currently accessible through a beta version exclusively for PC users on Steam and GOG. The public beta branches are where players can find these preliminary changes.

Significant alterations include a modest reduction in difficulty for early game bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter. Alongside these adjustments, players can also expect lower costs for Bellway and Bell Bench, as well as improved loot from relics and psalm cylinders.

• Resolved an issue preventing players from becoming cloakless post-Slab escape sequence.
• Fixed the Infestation Operation quest, which was often uncompletable in late-game scenarios.
• Addressed the Beast in the Bells quest not being feasible when summoned at the Bilewater Bellway late in the game.
• Corrected instances where characters could become stuck floating after bouncing off certain projectiles.
• Fixed accessibility issues with courier deliveries during late-game segments.
• Corrected the behavior of the craft bind feature when in a memory state.
• Resolved soft-lock issues with the Lace tool at the start of battles in the Deep Docks.
• Fixed Silk Snippers getting stuck out of bounds in the Chapel of the Reaper.
• Corrected Claw Mirrors causing Hornet’s inversion upon damage during a specific moment in binding.
• Ensured Snitch Pick delivers rosaries and shell shards as intended.
• Removed the float override input sequences (down + jump) after obtaining the Faydown Cloak.
• Implemented a slight difficulty reduction for Moorwing and Sister Splinter.
• Reduced damage dealt by Sandcarvers.
• Increased collider scale for pea pods slightly.
• Lowered the prices for mid-game Bellway and Bell Bench.
• Enhanced rosary rewards from relics and psalm cylinders.
• Boosted rosary rewards for successful courier deliveries.
• Included various other minor fixes and tweaks.

Team Cherry stated, “All fixes will apply retroactively, so players who have encountered significant bugs that halt progress may want to switch over to the public beta to benefit from these fixes.” The team is actively working on a second patch to address further issues, encouraging players to remain updated through their communication channels.
