The Purpose of Rosary Strings

This distinction is significant. Given the Soulslike nature of Silksong, dying will cause you to drop some of your possessions. You must return to your death location to collect your items, reminiscent of the mechanics seen in Dark Souls. By using rosary strings, you eliminate the risk of losing your rosaries upon death, as they remain safe until you choose to use them.

How to Create Rosary Strings

If you find yourself with an excess of rosaries you’re concerned about, make your way to Bone Bottom, the game’s initial camp area.

After defeating the Bell Beast and unlocking fast travel, you can easily return to Bone Bottom. Nearby the cave entrance leading to the fast travel station, you’ll meet Pebb. She will convert 80 separate rosaries into a rosary string for you.

It is important to note that while creating a rosary string costs 80 rosaries, the resulting string only holds 60 rosaries. This trade-off guarantees that you won’t lose this collection, offering peace of mind as you navigate the challenges ahead.

Congratulations! You can now explore the game without the fear of losing your rosary strings, as they are treated as items rather than currency. To access your rosaries when needed, simply locate the string in your inventory and press X (or your chosen button) to break it open.
