Hollow Knight Silksong: Complete Guide to the Balm for the Wounded Quest

The “Balm for the Wounded”is an intriguing side quest in Act 2 of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Your mission is to locate Sherma, who has mysteriously vanished from the vibrant area of Songclave. This quest can be challenging, as Sherma is hidden within a secret region that many players might overlook if they fail to explore thoroughly.

As with various other quests found throughout Silksong, completing “Balm for the Wounded”proves beneficial due to the valuable rewards it provides. This quest is particularly important for those aiming for 100% completion, making it a must-do for dedicated players.

Initiating the Balm for the Wounded Quest

To commence the “Balm for the Wounded”quest, players first need to uncover the area of Songclave, located in the northeastern section of the Choral Chambers in the Citadel. Upon activating the First Shrine bench in Songclave, players should exit and then re-enter, prompting the construction of a Wish Board.

However, the Wish Board will not initially feature the “Balm for the Wounded”quest. To unlock it, players must complete the “Building Up Songclave” side quest, requiring the donation of 300 Rosaries to the Wish Board and a single visit to Whiteward. Additionally, you’ll need a key to access Whiteward, conveniently located to the right of the First Shrine bench in Songclave.

After accomplishing the requirements of the “Building Up Songclave”quest and visiting Whiteward, return to Songclave to find the “Balm for the Wounded”quest available on the Wish Board. Accept the quest to officially begin your adventure.

Locating Sherma in Whiteward

Head to the eastern section of Whiteward, situated northwest of the route leading to the Underworks, where you can locate Sherma. The accompanying image below indicates the door leading directly to her location.

As you delve into Whiteward while seeking Sherma, you will come across a personal item of hers that you can interact with. This action will allow you to track her scent and create a clear path to her whereabouts.

Following Sherma’s scent will lead you back to the earlier mentioned door. Upon entering, you will find yourself in a small alcove of Whiteward. Progress to the right until you encounter Sherma.

Once you discover Sherma, engage her in conversation and be sure to exhaust all her dialogue options. This will activate a battle sequence against a wave of five enemies. Triumph over them, then speak to Sherma again to conclude the “Balm for the Wounded”quest.

Rewards for Completing the Balm for the Wounded Quest

Upon successfully completing the “Balm for the Wounded”quest, players will receive a Spool Fragment as a reward, given by Sherma after her rescue. This fragment is essential as it is one of two components that enhance Hornet’s Silk Meter.

Additionally, players will unlock a new quest titled the Lost Merchant at the Wish Board in Songclave as a bonus. This new adventure involves searching for yet another missing character across the expansive map of Silksong.
