Overview of Iansan’s Abilities in Genshin Impact

  • Iansan’s ability kit has been revealed ahead of her launch as a 4-star Electro Polearm character in Version 5.5 of Genshin Impact.
  • As a support character, Iansan specializes in healing and providing ATK buffs through a unique attack combo enabled by her Elemental Skill.
  • The highly anticipated Version 5.5 is scheduled for release on March 26, 2025.

Recently, Genshin Impact enthusiasts were treated to a significant leak detailing Iansan’s complete set of abilities. Scheduled to arrive as a 4-star Electro Polearm character in Version 5.5, Iansan has been on the minds of fans since her initial tease in September 2020. The anticipation surrounding her character has only intensified since the doors to Natlan opened in August 2024, setting high expectations for her gameplay.

Throughout her relatively minor role in the Archon Quest, Iansan distinguished herself as a charming warrior and fitness instructor, quickly garnering fan admiration. However, her confirmation as a 4-star character stirred debate among the community, especially as the patch’s featured 5-star character, Varesa, shares both an affiliation with the Collective of Plenty and the same element.

Seele Leaks has provided insights indicating that Iansan excels as a support unit, capable of healing allies and buffing their attack power. Notably, her Elemental Burst offers a flexible buff that follows the active character rather than being limited to a specific area. As long as the character keeps moving, Iansan’s support potential skyrockets, especially for teams that focus on Plunging Attacks.

Iansan’s Ability Kit Breakdown

Core Abilities

  • Normal Attack: Executes up to three consecutive strikes with her spear.
  • Charged Attack: Uses a specified amount of stamina to dash forward, inflicting damage on any enemies encountered.
  • Plunging Attack: Dives from mid-air, striking the ground and dealing area-of-effect damage to enemies within her descent.
    • While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, her Charged Attack becomes “Thunderous Dive, ”jumping forward to inflict AoE Electro damage while consuming stamina.
  • Elemental Skill: Iansan dashes forward, delivering Electro damage, and after the dash, a normal attack results in a “Thunderous Dive”at no stamina cost, restoring Nightsoul Points and initiating the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.
  • Nightsoul’s Blessing: Consumes Nightsoul Points continuously, boosting Iansan’s speed and leap ability. Activating sprint shifts to “Lightning Rush”mode for increased movement and jumping capacity.
    • This mode allows her to leap across obstacles or traverse water, immunizing her from relevant damage sources.
  • Elemental Burst: Causes Iansan to stomp the ground, dealing AoE Electro damage and summoning a kinetic marker that follows the active character while boosting their attack based on her Nightsoul Points.
  • Kinetic Marker: Increases the active character’s attack based on Iansan’s Nightsoul Points. Restoration of Nightsoul Points occurs as the marker tracks the character’s movement, with specific conditions applying when out of combat.

Passive Talents

  • P1: Activation of “Thunderous Dive”grants Iansan an attack bonus and further boosts Nightsoul Points recovery for short durations.
  • P2: Nearby allies triggering a Nightsoul Burst provides Iansan with healing capabilities when restoring her own Nightsoul Points.
  • P3: Upon depletion of Nightsoul Points, Iansan can utilize Phlogiston to maintain her boosted state under specific conditions.
  • P4: In Phlogiston areas, Iansan can restore additional points when levels fall below a designated threshold.

Constellation Effects

  • C1: While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, each 6 Points consumed generates energy, fostering prolonged engagement in battle.
  • C2: Upon casting her Elemental Burst, Iansan inherits additional damage enhancements for allied characters.
  • C3: Boosts the level of her Elemental Skill for enhanced performance.
  • C4: Introduces a stack mechanism to facilitate extra recovery through the kinetic marker on specific character actions.
  • C5: Elevates Elemental Burst effectiveness through level improvements.
  • C6: Prolongs the Kinetic Marker duration and fortifies damage output for characters when specific reinstatement criteria are met.

Iansan’s constellation options offer significant advantages, making her particularly appealing for players. Her synergies with Natlan characters, such as Varesa, amplify her healing abilities through Nightsoul Burst activations. Iansan’s player demand has spurred speculation regarding potential adjustments, as many hope she will retain her strengths post-beta testing. While the Event Banners for Version 5.5 remain undisclosed, fans are eager to see her alongside either Varesa, Venti, or Xianyun. Mark your calendars for the launch of Version 5.5 on March 26, 2025.
