Guide to Carrying and Switching Two Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds introduces an exciting first for the series: hunters can now carry multiple weapons on their adventures. This feature is highly anticipated by veteran players, though it becomes available only after progressing through the storyline.
Equipping Two Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
The opportunity to carry two weapons arises during your second mission, titled Village of Whispering Winds, where you will face off against the new Brute Wyvern known as the Quematrice.
Upon successfully defeating the Quematrice, you’ll return to your base camp, where Y’sai will present you with the Seikret mounts. Notably, these mounts come equipped with a special saddle crafted by Gemma, enabling hunters to carry an extra weapon into battle.
Switching Between Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Rejoice, as you can now equip two weapons simultaneously! The method for switching between these weapons involves riding your mount. While traversing the open world, you can change your weapon setup by pressing the appropriate button on your directional pad.
Your secondary weapon can differ significantly from your primary one; for example, you may choose to combine a Great Sword with a Bowgun. The options are vast and customizable!
To add a secondary weapon, simply visit your base camp chest to make the switch. Alternatively, this can also be done on the go at a pop-up camp by selecting the ‘Change Equipment’ feature, where you’ll locate your secondary weapon slot.
Is It Possible to Carry More Than Two Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds?
While the thrill of wielding more than one weapon is exhilarating, it’s important to note that, at present, you can only carry two weapons at a time in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unless hidden mechanics are discovered that reveal a third weapon slot, this limit stands.
