Guide to Accessing and Placing Cosmetic Items in Grow a Garden
Exciting news for fans of Grow a Garden: the highly anticipated Cosmetic Update has arrived! This update brings an impressive array of beautiful decorative items that complement your garden’s flora. To fully appreciate these new additions, you may need to tidy up your plots to enhance the overall aesthetics. If you’ve recently acquired some of these decorative items, this guide will help you access and place them in your garden.
Acquiring Cosmetic Items in Grow a Garden
The introduction of a Cosmetic Shop makes it easier than ever to browse the latest decorative enhancements. You can find this shop conveniently located between the Gear Shop and the Pet Eggs Shop. For quick access, use the recall wrench to teleport directly in front of the Gear Shop, then take a left, or stroll over and interact with the character known as Sam.

Notably, there’s a timer at the top of the window indicating when new products will be available for purchase, similar to the systems used in both the seed and gear shops.
The store features a range of prices alongside images of each item, with most Common and Uncommon items purchasable using Sheckles. For the Rare and Legendary cosmetic items, you also have the option to spend Robux.
Opening Crates for More Cosmetics
Among the collectible options are various crates available for purchase, granting access to unique items such as signboards and gnomes. You can find these crates at the Cosmetic Shop, but the coveted Exotic Cosmetic Crate is exclusively available through the in-game shop using Robux.
Follow these steps to open a crate in Grow a Garden:
- Find an open area in your garden and click the Backpack icon at the top to access your inventory.
- Type the name of the crate into the search box to find it.
- Hold the crate by left-clicking on it and then place it by clicking on an empty area in your garden.
Once you place a crate down, a timer will commence, similar to pet eggs. The game features seven distinct types of cosmetic crates, including the Sign Crate, Statue Crate, Fun Crate, Common Gnome Crate, Farmer Gnome Crate, Classic Gnome Crate, and the Exotic Cosmetic Crate.
Each crate requires a waiting period of 45 seconds before it can be opened. When the timer elapses, simply press and hold the E key to access your crate, which adds the contained item to your cosmetic backpack for future use.
Accessing Cosmetic Items

- Click on the new Tools icon located at the top left of your screen.
- Select the Tools icon to unveil your cosmetic items backpack.
- Choose your desired items and place them within your garden.
Alternatively, you can simply click the Backpack icon to access your inventory, then press the B key (PC) to view all available cosmetic items.
Placing and Moving Cosmetic Items

- Open your cosmetics backpack and select your desired item.
- Click on the item to place it in any empty area on your plot, including spaces outside of plant zones.
- While keeping the cosmetic backpack open, left-click on your newly placed item.
- You will see three options for managing the item: move, rotate, or store it back in your backpack.
This process will allow you to creatively arrange the new decorative items in your garden, enhancing its charm. So, do you have enough space to accommodate these exciting new additions, or are your beloved Candy Blossoms taking up all the room? Remember, you can also expand your plot in Grow a Garden to make room for even more plants and decorations!
