GTA Online Account Bans Lifted by Rockstar Following Player Appeals

Rockstar Games has recently initiated a wave of GTA Online account bans targeting players attempting to circumvent the BattlEye anti-cheat system. While this crackdown primarily aimed at cheaters, it inadvertently affected many genuine PC players, as previously reported. However, it appears that Rockstar Games has begun to lift some of the unjust bans, with notable insider Tez2 sharing updates on X earlier today, October 4, 2024. According to Tez2, Rockstar has started reversing certain GTA Online bans.
Players who have had their account bans lifted should expect to receive an email from the developers. Continue reading for further details on this situation.
GTA Online Account Bans Being Reversed for Some Players, Restoration Expected Within Two Hours: Report
As highlighted above, Tez2 has provided an important update regarding the previously reported GTA Online ban wave that mistakenly penalized numerous legitimate players. In their new report, it mentions that some players who were falsely banned last month filed appeals but initially received a generic response stating they weren’t eligible for an appeal.
Unexpectedly, these players’ account bans have now been lifted following another email from Rockstar Games. The email states:
“We have reviewed your account and your GTA Online ban is being lifted. Please allow two hours for your account to be fully reinstated if it isn’t already.”
How to Check if Your Grand Theft Auto Online Account Ban Has Been Lifted?
As mentioned earlier, some individuals who submitted an appeal have received an email from Rockstar Support indicating that their account ban is being lifted. It may take some time for these emails to reach all players, so it’s advisable to check your inbox if you submitted an appeal.
If you have also been wrongly banned but have yet to file an appeal, you can still do so by visiting the link below:

Remember that the BattlEye anti-cheat system still has some ongoing issues that players should consider before launching the game on PC.
