Epic Games has officially unveiled the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 event, a highly anticipated return of the beloved map and key locations from 2017-2018. Gamers can enjoy a variety of nostalgic features in this special game mode, running from January 31 to March 25. The event also introduces an exclusive OG Battle Pass, featuring classic Outfits that harken back to the early days of Fortnite.

This second iteration of the Fortnite OG event comes on the heels of the first event’s tremendous success at the end of 2023, which saw millions of players flock to experience the roots of this battle royale phenomenon. The initial event’s popularity prompted the indefinite return of the OG game mode, further enhanced by the updated Chapter 1 Season 2 event, which reintroduces popular locations and weapons. Following a stellar year in 2024, punctuated by new game modes like Fortnite Ballistic and acclaimed events such as Remix: The Finale, Fortnite is positioning itself for continued success.

OG Loot Makes a Comeback, Including the Boogie Bomb

Expanded Loot Pool Throughout the Event

Longtime Fortnite enthusiasts will be thrilled to see the return of classic loot that characterized the early battle royale experience.Players can once again equip the legendary Boogie Bomb, a beloved throwable item that forces enemies (and even allies) into a comical dance, leaving them vulnerable to attacks. In their recent blog post, Epic detailed, “Throw this funky orb into the fray to unleash a momentary, disco-fueled dance party on your foes.”

Alongside the Boogie Bomb, the loot pool is set to expand over the course of the Fortnite OG event, with classic items like the Small Shield Potion and the Multi-Surface Damage Trap becoming available right from January 31.As the season unfolds, a range of vintage items will return, including the Cozy Campfire, Chug Jug, Minigun, Impulse Grenade, and Crossbow. These additions aim to enhance the authentic gameplay experience of Fortnite OG, distinguishing it from the current mechanics of modern Fortnite.

To complement the nostalgic loot, a new OG Pass has been introduced, featuring 45 tiers of rewards modeled after the classic Fortnite experience of late 2017.Players can look forward to skins and items inspired by iconic Outfits such as Sparkle Specialist, Black Knight, and Cuddle Team Leader. One notable reward, the Sparkle Diva, is available immediately upon purchasing the battle pass for 1000 V-Bucks. As with previous Fortnite battle passes, players can earn XP in any Fortnite mode to unlock these rewards.

The launch of Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 provides an exciting nostalgic journey through the early days of this landmark battle royale game. Veteran players can revisit iconic Points of Interest (POIs) like Snobby Shores and Tilted Towers, while newcomers have the opportunity to experience the classic Fortnite environment for the very first time.
