Despite being launched five months ago, Star Wars Outlaws has struggled to meet the expectations set forth by its publisher, Ubisoft. The game, which expands the beloved Star Wars universe with the original protagonist Kay Vess, has received mixed reviews from both critics and gamers. Following this disappointing reception, Creative Director Drew Rechner emphasized the studio’s commitment to improving the game based on community feedback. This dedication has materialized in the release of five significant updates along with multiple smaller patches since the original launch.

Recently, Massive Entertainment rolled out Title Update 1.5.1, which primarily focuses on enhancing the gameplay experience for PC and PS5 Pro players. The update includes support for the newly launched Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, unlocking features like DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which promises a smoother gaming experience. The new DLSS capabilities should also enhance visuals through improved lighting and rendering of dynamic details, contributing to added stability. Furthermore, the update accommodates the latest version of PSSR, an AI-enhanced upscaling solution for PlayStation 5 Pro.

Additionally, the update resolves a specific crash issue linked to streaming platforms that occurred while navigating to Renpalli Station. Other bugs, including one that caused loud noises from overhead ships and another preventing players from dismounting their speeder on steep inclines, have been fixed across all platforms.

The initial release of Star Wars Outlaws proved to be a significant letdown for Ubisoft in 2024, compounded by setbacks such as the cancellation of its live-service title, XDefiant. Now, as the eagerly anticipated launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows approaches, Ubisoft seems poised for a strong comeback in the gaming sector, aspiring to rejuvenate its reputation.

Moreover, DLSS 4 comes equipped with faster single Frame Generation while reducing memory usage, alongside new transformer AI models for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and DLAA, enhancing detail, lighting, and stability across all GeForce RTX GPUs.
