ENA Dream BBQ: A Guide to Successfully Cross the Bridge

The ENA Team has introduced the captivating first chapter of an indie game entitled ENA: Dream BBQ, inspired by the unique animations, characters, and narratives crafted by Joel G. This promising title invites players into a vibrant, unpredictable world.

Alongside the complimentary release of Dream BBQ, players can opt for the Supporter Edition, which grants access to exclusive additional content.

As you step into the shoes of the whimsically two-faced character ENA, prepare for an exhilarating adventure filled with unexpected twists and an open-ended narrative that encourages exploration and interpretation.

This comprehensive guide will walk you through your adventure on the deep web, leading you across a massive bridge in Chapter 1: Lonely Door.

Getting Started with ENA: Dream BBQ

The game begins in an eerie, deserted row of market stalls, endlessly looping in all directions. Above, a striking red sky looms, casting a shadow of a giant figure swimming through the air.

As you progress forward, you’ll realize that traveling in a straight line leads you nowhere—instead, navigate diagonally through the stalls until you spot the glowing lanterns above.

Head directly towards the illuminated lanterns to discover a blue bed situated in the center of the street.Interact with the bed to lie down and gaze at the sky; this action will teleport you to the subsequent area.

Your next destination will be a casino-like arcade. Proceed straight ahead, then up the staircase, where an automatic cutscene featuring ENA and Froggy will activate.

The objective is clear: you must reach The Boss. However, there’s an obstacle in your path—a literal sea of blood separates you from this elusive character, located at a distant giant mountain, as Froggy informs you.

Before facing this daunting challenge, you’ll need to safeguard your lungs from the suffocating smoke filling the area. Froggy will assign you your first mission, titled HELP NEEDED, which instructs you to find the Receptionist.

Navigating to the Lonely Door

To continue, descend the staircase you just came from; look for an opening on your right to pass through. Ignore the ominous blood seeping from the counter; that’s a problem for someone else.

The Receptionist doesn’t appear pleased to see you. After some firm words from ENA, she’ll permit you to use one of the Blue Doors that lead back to the surface.

These Blue Doors give access to different levels or chapters in the game. In my initial playthrough of Lonely Door, it took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete; however, your experience may vary based on the tasks you choose to undertake, as detailed here.

As you make your way back, Froggy will reach out with a reminder to seek additional doors and interact with their Genies, an essential goal for later in your chapter.

Once back at the top, interact with the various characters around you. One human you meet, identified by long hair and coral glasses, will provide you with a fax code, a fun Easter egg encountered after meeting the Taski Maiden later in your journey.

Look for the blue-green smoke billowing from the sky, guiding you like a celestial spotlight. Enter the Lonely Door to uncover the first expansive area of the game.

Locating the Bridge

Upon entering, Froggy will contact you again, instructing you to seek out any signs of Genies responsible for the smoke. It’s worth noting that during this interaction, ENA hilariously glitches, referring to Genies as bathrooms.

Engage with the ornate stained-glass window to open the pathway ahead; your next goal is a vast floating island above the desert landscape.

Venture through the newly unlocked doorway to step outside into the expansive desert. Here, various tasks await, which you can gather by conversing with the characters scattered throughout the area.

If you head towards the floating island’s central route, you’ll encounter Hoarder Alex, who has a bundle of both physical and emotional baggage. He’ll become so overwhelmed that he will faint, necessitating your assistance before you can continue your discussion.

Interestingly, you might opt to simply wait out the time; after a few minutes, he may sadly pass away, allowing you to proceed to the bridge and bypass an entire sequence of tasks.

Before granting you passage, Alex will complain about being watched and will signal to a purple humanoid lurking at a distance.Only once you address this observer will he permit you to cross the bridge.

One method to continue involves solving a separate task for the character Shoryo, which entails collecting his pets to receive some chocolates.

Bridging the Gap

After crossing over to the other side of the desert, engage with another character resembling a purple capsule machine.

Upon speaking with him, ENA will have a dramatic breakdown during an uninterrupted cutscene, underscoring the urgency of the situation with little consideration for personal concerns.

This character operates a shop where you can acquire mayonnaise, a crucial item required for your bridge crossing. Simply exchange 10 chocolates for the mayonnaise.

Next, proceed to the dilapidated structure where the purple humanoid is stationed. Navigate the precarious stairs to the upper level and engage with him.

You’ll be presented with an option to Block eyes with mayonnaise. This amusing tactic involves placing the mayonnaise jar on his head, effectively obstructing his sight. Surprisingly effective, right?

Return to Hoarder Alex, who will ridicule your attempts to escape. Subsequently, a cutscene will reveal the purple humanoid remaining stationary in the crumbling building, with red eyes illuminated through the mayonnaise jar.

A panicked Alex will then flee, only to be struck from afar, resulting in a humorous explosion in a tightly controlled ragdoll animation. Success!

With the bridge now accessible, you’re free to continue your quest to locate the elusive Genies, eradicate the smoke, and maybe even discover a bathroom along the way.
