Mastering the Fell Omen: A Guide to the Elden Ring Nightreign Tutorial Boss

Elden Ring Nightreign, in true FromSoftware tradition, presents players with a formidable challenge right from the get-go. The tutorial introduces a familiar adversary, the Fell Omen, setting the stage for triumph amidst trials. This opening battle is designed to be tough, yet with the right strategy, players can secure a victory while reaping significant rewards.

Preparing for Battle

Before confronting the Fell Omen, ensure you are adequately equipped with the right Armaments. Proceed to the designated ruins where the boss awaits. As instructed, revive the Duchess to aid you in this challenge. The initiation of the battle will prompt you to maintain your distance; let the Duchess engage the enemy while you observe the actions of the Fell Omen.

Utilizing Effective Strategies

During the fight, capitalize on the boss’s hammer attacks. Counteract by using either the Hoarfrost Stump or the Cold Katar to inflict frostbite while staying out of reach. After the boss executes a hammer attack, take advantage of the opening to strike. The Continual Glintblades can be particularly effective, delivering bursts of damage while you avoid direct confrontation.

If the Duchess falls in battle, don’t despair. You can employ Wylder’s Ultimate Art to bring her back into the fight instantly. However, it is crucial to aim for victory without succumbing to defeat; otherwise, your second attempt will be significantly tougher without her assistance.

Reaping the Rewards

Upon conquering the Fell Omen, take a moment to sit in the chair to signal the end of the tutorial. You will awaken in the Roundtable Hold, where you will receive the Fell Omen Fetish relic. This valuable item enhances your attack power during weapon switches, boosts throwing knife damage, and grants a +1 increase in Vigor—essential for sustaining your journey ahead.

Should you find the need to retry the boss fight, it’s worth noting that you can replay the tutorial. Simply navigate to the Visual Codex, select the Guide option, and press the Square/X button to start over.
