Elden Ring Nightreign: A Comprehensive Guide to the Recluse Remembrance Quest

Elden Ring Nightreign offers players a plethora of Nightfarers to explore. Each Nightfarer comes with unique attributes and lore that can be discovered through specific Remembrance quests. Embarking on these quests not only deepens your understanding of each character but also enhances your gaming experience.

Unlike the complex storylines often crafted by FromSoftware, the Remembrance quests are designed to be straightforward, making them accessible to a broader range of players. The Recluse questline, in particular, can be completed fairly quickly, contingent on your progress against the Nightlords.

To initiate these quests, players must first locate Memory Fragments tied to the Nightfarer. After gathering these fragments, head over to the library in Roundtable Hold where a special book serves as your guide. Each chapter within this book unlocks different sections of the Remembrance quests.

Chapter Two: Defeat the Nightlord

To progress to Chapter Two, players must first defeat a Nightlord as Recluse. A great choice for this battle is Libra, Creature of Night, given Recluse’s advantageous matchup against this boss.

After conquering the Nightlord, return to the Roundtable Hold to check in with the journal. Engage with Iron Menial, located in the western section of the hold, who will outline the next steps for your quest.

Iron Menial will instruct you to acquire a Night Shard, which involves defeating a specified boss you’ll track down during your expedition. This target will be easily identifiable on your map due to its distinctive icon. Once you initiate the expedition with the Recluse quest active, a marker will indicate the location of the necessary field boss.

The boss presents a manageable challenge and can be taken down effortlessly with your trio of players, provided the team coordinates their efforts during the run.

Upon successfully defeating the boss, return to Iron Menial to claim Recluse’s Chalice. This should automatically unlock the next chapter, but if not, you can always complete another expedition to trigger the next stage of the quest.

Chapter Four: The Blue Blood Encounter

This chapter is particularly straightforward, as you won’t need to engage in any expeditions to proceed. Start by reading the note at the table once you embark on the Remembrance quest.

You will need to seek out Iron Menial again, who can be found near the Small Jar Bazaar. Interact with them to receive the Night Shard, which will help reveal a trail of blood on the ground.

Following this trail leads you to the waiting area in Roundtable Hold. Once you interact with the blue blood, you will obtain the Vestige of Night relic, completing this section of your Remembrance.

Completing this task should unlock Chapter Five, but to access Chapter Six, you must have defeated a total of four Nightlords using any characters.

Chapters Six & Seven: The Iron Menial Quest

Chapter Six leads you on a mission to locate a hidden character at the Roundtable Hold. This individual can be found at the Sparring Grounds near the equipment tent.

While it appears to be Iron Menial, interacting with them reveals that something is amiss. Engage in battle, and they will transform into a version of Recluse and provide you with new dialogue.

Continue the conversation until you notice the text, “From somewhere, the sound of a heavy door opening rings out.”Your next step is to track down the real Iron Menial, who will be down the stairs adjacent to the Small Jar Bazaar.

After descending the stairs, navigate around the wall—there should be an unlocked door leading to Iron Menial. Once you’ve restored Iron Menial’s condition, resume your conversation with them.

Completing this Remembrance will reward you with the Bone-Like Stone relic. To finalize the entire Remembrance quest, you must defeat a minimum of four Nightlords, culminating in a victory over the last Nightlord you face.

After vanquishing the final foe, go to the waiting room and interact with the crying baby to obtain Recluse’s Remembrance Skin. With this completed, you can now venture into the quests for the other Nightfarers to further expand your gameplay experience.
