Exciting Headgear Updates for FFXIV’s Hrothgar and Viera Avatars

In a recent installment of the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXXXVII, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida, along with Global Community Producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi, unveiled significant enhancements for headgear options specific to Hrothgar and Viera avatars in Final Fantasy XIV. This anticipated update, scheduled for release with patch 7.3 in early August 2025, will introduce a variety of new hats and helmets tailored to these races. Notably, the expansion of headgear support also includes innovative features for players who wear hoods, allowing hair bangs to be visible beneath the headwear.

New Hat and Helmet Options

Yoshida and Murouchi confirmed that the rollout of additional headgear for Hrothgar and Viera will coincide with the launch of FFXIV patch 7.3. This update will provide both male and female avatars with an array of fashionable hats. Players can look forward to the option of toggling the visibility of Viera’s ears from under their hats, a customization feature that can be easily saved for future use.
