  • Introducing Suikoden Star Leap—the inaugural mobile-focused entry in the beloved franchise, launching for iOS and Android devices.
  • The game is set to be free-to-play, with available microtransactions, although a specific release date is still under wraps.
  • Latest updates confirm that both Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster are slated for launch on March 6 across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Konami has unveiled its latest venture in the iconic Suikoden series with the announcement of Suikoden Star Leap. Unlike previous titles, this installment is specifically designed for mobile play, available on both iOS and Android. Players should be prepared for a free-to-play experience that integrates in-game microtransactions.

The Suikoden franchise, which dates back to 1995, comprises five main titles along with six spin-offs—many of which were limited to the Japanese market. These RPGs draw inspiration from the classic Chinese literary work, The Water Margin, sharing thematic elements and characters across various installments. Following a period of prolific releases, the last mainline game debuted in 2006, with the latest spin-off hitting international markets in 2009. Now, fans are eager to witness this significant new chapter in the saga, although it comes in an unexpected format.

As detailed by Konami and developer Mythril through Gematsu, the upcoming Suikoden Star Leap offers a storyline centered around the Rune of Change—one of the 27 legendary True Runes believed to have shaped the world. Players will assume the role of a village chief’s son who embarks on a mission to restore harmony after a sudden attack disrupts the peace of his community. The soundtrack will feature a theme song titled “Campanula, ”performed by Kaho Nakamura, known for her role in the anime film Belle.

Introducing Suikoden Star Leap

In addition to Suikoden Star Leap, fans of the franchise have something else to anticipate. The remastered versions of the first two titles, Suikoden 1 and 2, are set to launch on March 6. These upgraded editions will feature improved environmental sound effects, refreshed user interfaces, new character portraits, and much more, providing a nostalgic yet enhanced experience for both old and new players alike.
