Mojang Studios has officially launched the Minecraft 1.21.2 Bundles of Bravery update for both the Java and Bedrock Editions. This marks their inaugural game drop, representing a more compact version compared to the extensive updates previously rolled out. As usual, the modding community is set to progressively develop stable versions of mods tailored for the latest game release.

One of the leading mods for performance and graphics—OptiFine—enables players to enhance their FPS in Minecraft and utilize shader packs effectively. However, despite the release of the 1.21.2 update, OptiFine is yet to provide a version that is compatible with this latest update. Here’s everything you need to know.

Even though the Minecraft 1.21.2 Bundles of Bravery update is available to players, OptiFine lags in its development progress. Currently, this performance-enhancing mod only supports the 1.21.1 version, and a preview for the 1.21.2 update has not yet been shared on their official site.

Given the lack of a preview version, it appears OptiFine could require several weeks to finalize and release an official version of the mod that works with the 1.21.2 update.

At present, the most recent version of the mod listed on their site is OptiFine HD U J1, which aligns with the 1.21.1 update.

A visit to OptiFine’s official Discord server offers some clarification on its development timeline. According to updates there, the preview version for OptiFine 1.21.2 has not been completed and stands at 50% completion as of now.

This indicates that a significant wait might be necessary for the official mod version to be ready for the Bundles of Bravery update.

Consider Alternative Performance Mods for the Bundles of Bravery Update

While OptiFine continues to work on its 1.21.2 compatible version, players have a variety of excellent alternatives to consider. Prominent among these are the Iris Shaders and Sodium mod, which provide superb performance upgrades and shader support. Both can be easily installed via the Iris installer, available for download on the official Iris shader website.

Once downloaded, players can seamlessly install both the shader support and the performance mod to enhance their Minecraft 1.21.2 experience with the Bundles of Bravery update.
