Blizzard Entertainment has officially launched a free trial for Diablo 4 along with parts of its Vessel of Hatred DLC, available from January 21 through January 28. While free trials for Diablo 4 are not new, this particular event allows players to explore the highly-anticipated first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, and its new Spiritborn class.

Since its initial launch, Diablo 4 experienced significant backlash due to server issues that hindered gameplay for many players. However, the action role-playing game (RPG) has transformed its reputation, recently reaching over 55,000 concurrent players on Steam, spurred by the launch of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The release has led to a division within the gaming community, as some players opted to purchase the DLC while others remained focused on the base game and its seasonal updates. The introduction of the Spiritborn class has sparked interest among players, giving them the chance to evaluate new gameplay possibilities.

The Diablo Twitter account recently confirmed that players can enjoy this unique free trial across all platforms until 10:00 A.M. Pacific Time on January 28. This limited opportunity features the Spiritborn class, exclusive to the Vessel of Hatred DLC. Players can dive into new regions, including the Nahantu area, experience the Dark Citadel dungeon, and access new campaign content and items—some of which can be unlocked during the trial. Although existing players can try the Spiritborn class, they will not have access to their max-level characters or complete experience of the DLC.

In addition to the Vessel of Hatred content, players will also have the chance to explore the features of Diablo 4 Season 7. Should they decide to purchase the DLC after trial completion, any progress made with the Spiritborn class during the trial will be saved, ensuring no loss of advancement.

As Blizzard continues to enhance and expand the Diablo 4 experience, the potential for future free trials remains high. The roadmap ahead suggests that players can look forward to additional expansions, likely offering similar opportunities to explore new content.

For those eager to join the adventure, this promotion also features significant savings, with discounts of up to 45% on both the base game and the expansion, including premium editions that offer exclusive items such as the War Cat Mount and Canine Pet.
