On May 6, 2025, Destiny 2 introduced an exciting event, The Rite of the Nine. This event serves as a capstone to Episode Heresy while laying the groundwork for the eagerly awaited Edge of Fate expansion, set to release on July 15, 2025.

The Rite of the Nine invites players to conquer a rotating selection of three legacy dungeons: Spire of the Watcher, Ghosts of the Deep, and Prophecy. Each dungeon brings back iconic weapons, now available in enhanced Adept varieties.

Similar to the Into the Light event from 2023, players can enhance their chances of acquiring these weapons by attuning to them during the event. In this guide, we will focus on which weapons to prioritize for attunement and farming.

Not every weapon on this list will be a valuable addition to your arsenal, even with their god rolls. Certain weapons may perform better in PvE or PvP environments due to the current meta. Ideal perks will be bolded, along with their recommended usage scenarios. All weapons in The Rite of the Nine also feature the Origin Trait Gravity Well, which collects nearby ammo during reloading.

Adrenaline Junkie (PvE)

Starting with New Pacific Epitaph, which typically drops from the Ghosts of the Deep, this grenade launcher is a solid choice despite the tedious farming associated with that dungeon. It’s advisable to pursue this weapon along with its companions from Ghosts of the Deep, irrespective of seeking their perfect rolls.

Wave-frame grenade launchers were once a dominant force, particularly with the Forebearance from the Vow of the Disciple, featuring perks like Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction. While their strength may have waned, they remain effective for clearing mobs of enemies.

The optimal perk setup would include Lead from Gold and Chain Reaction, ideal for dealing with adds, as Lead from Gold ensures that you’re never short on heavy ammo. Even with a minor nerf, Chain Reaction remains a useful perk for maximizing enemy elimination.

However, if you’re focused primarily on collection completeness, there are perhaps better options available that integrate more smoothly with Stasis builds.

Featuring a Wild West theme, the Long Arm is a lever-action scout rifle obtained from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon. Essentially, it’s a budget-friendly alternative to Dead Man’s Tale, with a 120 RPM that excels in mid-to-long-range scenarios, especially when users methodically plan their shots.

For PvE, the best perk combination you might want to go for is Rapid Hit and Dragonfly. Rapid Hit enhances reload speed, which is crucial given that this rifle reloads one bullet at a time. Meanwhile, Dragonfly adds explosive flair to takedowns, appealing to most players.

While many players might cherish the aesthetic and novelty of Long Arm, it’s essentially a secondary choice when compared to the exotic options available like Dead Man’s Tale. However, if you want to utilize the Hip Fire Grip and Tex Mechanus origin trait effectively, consider pairings with Lunafaction Boots (Warlock), Radiant Dance Machines (Hunter), or Lion Rampart (Titan).

As the proliferation of rocket sidearms escalates, traditional primary ammo sidearms have unfortunately taken a backseat. The Liminal Vigil, dropping from the Spire of the Watcher, still holds its own despite this shift in power dynamics.

This sidearm is particularly beneficial for both PvE and PvP contexts, offering a satisfying shooting experience with perks that enhance its utility. Popular charge options include Headstone and Rimestealer, though numerous Stasis weapons already feature this perk combination.

The uniqueness of Attrition Orbs, which generates an orb upon firing a significant portion of the magazine, adds to its appeal. Pairing this with perks like Desperate Measures and Desperado can further improve performance in PvE environments.

While many might gravitate towards better-performing sidearms in PvP, the burst-frame design of Liminal Vigil allows for greater consistency in landing shots. With Lone Wolf and Kill Clip, this weapon can deliver an impressive time-to-kill (TTK).

Stasis Adaptive Frame Hand Cannon

The Judgment hand cannon drops from the Prophecy dungeon, designed for methodical, precise shots rather than rapid-fire sprees. With a firing rate of 140 RPM, it shares similarities with popular Adaptive hand cannons such as Zaouli’s Bane or Fatebringer.

Given the abundance of effective Adaptive frame hand cannons available for PvE, consider focusing your farming efforts towards PvP instead. Perks like Lone Wolf and Opening Shot are especially critical, especially for players seeking to enhance their performance in engagements.

Though not a primary concern for a non-PvP player, I can easily see the weapon’s advantages in competitive scenarios, making it a worthwhile venture for players who thrive in such settings.

Column 4

Keep Away (PvP) Tear (PvE) Rapid Hit Slice (PvE)Lone Wolf (PvP) Firefly (PvE)

Desperado Elemental Honing Hatchling (PvE)Headseeker (PvP) Closing Time Paracausal Affinity

The Relentless pulse rifle, attainable from the Prophecy dungeon, offers surprisingly strong performance in both PvE and PvP. Its placement on this list is mainly due to the existence of similar pulse rifles, which diminishes its need for players who already own competent alternatives.

The array of available perks in Column 3, specifically Slice and Tear, provides excellent synergy with Strand builds. However, I find Firefly to undoubtedly be the standout choice for maximizing damage output against groups of enemies. Meanwhile, Hatchling is essential for building teams of Threadlings to combat foes more effectively.

An effective perk for both PvE and PvP scenarios is Paracausal Affinity, granting a 20% damage boost upon eliminating enemies of the same energy type. Keeping this buff active is ideal as long as continuous kills occur.

For PvP enthusiasts, selecting Lone Wolf alongside either Paracausal Affinity or Headseeker is becoming increasingly popular. However, Desperado serves as a valid choice for players seeking a boost in fire rate during engagements.

Among the legendary auto rifles in Destiny 2, the flashy Prosecutor stands out for its striking design aligned with the aesthetic of the Prophecy dungeon. Although it boasts reasonable perks, its primary strengths lie in PvE rather than PvP.

If you’re determined to use it in PvP, Zen Moment and Paracausal Affinity create a formidable combination. However, Prosecutor shines brightest in PvE, where Dragonfly and Voltshot enhance its performance against swarms of enemies.

The reload speed bonus provided by Dragonfly allows for faster activation of Voltshot, making it an effective tool for clearing out hordes of enemies quickly.

Ultimately, the visual appeal of this weapon is just a bonus when considering its practicality!

6 Terminus Horizon

Arc High-Impact Machine Gun

The Terminus Horizon, obtained from Spire of the Watcher, offers a robust selection of perks catering to both add-clearing and tougher enemy engagements. Its utility is skewed towards PvE, where heavy weapon use is prevalent.

This machine gun can be viewed as an Arc variant of Commemoration, equipped with popular perks like Reconstruction and Killing Tally typically favored for add-clear situations. However, to expand on its versatility, consider other perk options.

A combination featuring Dragonfly with either Rolling Storm or Jolting Feedback provides excellent add-clearing capabilities. The latter’s jolt effect proves effective against Overload Champions, increasing its value regardless of Artifact mods.

Should you find yourself needing to maximize damage output, Triple Tap along with Precision Instrument will be your go-to pairing, although primarily against champions or tougher yellow-bar enemies rather than bosses.

5 Greasy Luck

Solar Rapid-Fire Glaive

Unstoppable Force Redirection Chain Reaction Sword Logic Close To Melee Incandescent

The rise of glaives continues unabated, and Greasy Luck, a glaive dropping from the Ghosts of the Deep, exemplifies this trend. It’s equipped with a built-in melee combo that can complement various glaive-centric builds.

The synergistic pairing of Heal Clip and Incandescent remains a formidable option for several weapons, including the Heliocentric sidearm or Aberrant Action rocket launcher. While you can craft the latter, Greasy Luck has its own unique advantages.

Alternately, Chain Reaction is a solid pick, but for maximizing overall synergy, Incandescent takes the lead, making it perfect for Solar and Prismatic builds.

On the note of perks, combining Lead from Gold and Close to Melee offers compelling advantages; however, Sword Logic enhances glaive projectiles rather than melee attacks.

(Wilderflight) is a double-fire grenade launcher dropping from Spire of the Watcher and represents a unique entry in the weapon lineup. Its versatility has been significantly enhanced with its reprised version offering a more diverse perk set.

Typically, grenade launchers are better suited for PvE, and Wilderflight is no exception, designed for three principal functions: add-clearing, utility, and damage output.

Focusing first on add-clearing, while it boasts perks like Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds, other Void weapon options, like Lotus Eater, come highly recommended for this purpose.

For utility, hunting for a grenade launcher with Disorienting Grenades, Slideshot, and Lead from Gold would allow you to blind enemies effectively while maintaining a continuous ammo supply.

Finally, the damage-focused setup proves effective for extended engagements, as Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch work in tandem to minimize reload needs, especially beneficial during challenging boss fights like Simmumah Ur-Nokru.

The No Survivors submachine gun, dropping from Ghosts of the Deep, quickly gained favor due to its accessibility as a fantastic alternative to The Immortal, a powerful Strand SMG previously available as a Trials of Osiris reward.

In previous seasons, it dominated with exceptional perk options. The effectiveness of Heal Clip and Incandescent combinations makes this a must-farm choice for players.

Anyway, for players who prioritize PvP, No Survivors offers great potential. In its earlier incarnation before the Rite of the Nine event, my version featured stellar rolls like Rangefinder and Target Lock, providing an adequate edge over competitors.
